来るみな〳〵おどろきふもとまでいつさん
にくだり此事をはなしたり沓掛（クツカケ）のもの
それは天狗といふ者ならんといゝしと也
是は宝暦十二年三月廿八日のことなり
一信州塩野真楽寺は浅間明神の別当也
一上州鎌原延命寺是も浅間明神の別当也
然る所にたがへに別当のあらそへありて宝
永年中に出入あり上州信州両国の境
山なるゆへ双方にて別当いたし浅間明神
の配帙（ハイシツ）は右両寺より是をいだす
一信州浅間山より西南の麓普賢寺是は
別当にはこれなく先年焼出し五百余人
の流死その時此寺の真海（シンカイ）和尚 出生（シュッセウ）は岩
村田在の人なりしが母流死又諸人のあわれみ
現代語訳
やって来るのを見て、皆驚き、麓まで一散に駆け下り、このことを話した。沓掛の者が「それは天狗というものであろう」と言ったとのことである。これは宝暦十二年三月二十八日のことである。
一、信州塩野真楽寺は浅間明神の別当である。
一、上州鎌原延命寺もまた浅間明神の別当である。
ところが、互いに別当の争いがあり、宝永年中に訴訟沙汰となった。上州・信州両国の境にある山であるため、双方で別当を務め、浅間明神の配帙（はいちつ・御札・文書類）は右の両寺からこれを発行している。
一、信州浅間山より西南の麓にある普賢寺は、別当ではなく、先年（浅間山の噴火の際）焼け出しがあり、五百余人が流死した。その時、この寺の真海和尚（出身は岩村田在の人であった）の母も流死し、また諸人の憐れみを受けた。

They came toward them, and everyone was startled, rushing down to the foot of the mountain at full speed, where they told of what had happened. A person from Kutsukake said, "Those must have been tengu (mountain goblins)." This occurred on the 28th day of the 3rd month of Hōreki 12 (1762).
Item: Shinano Province's Shiono Shinrakuji Temple serves as the bettō (administrative head) of the Asama Myōjin shrine.
Item: Kōzuke Province's Kamahara Enmyōji Temple also serves as the bettō of the Asama Myōjin shrine.
However, there arose a dispute between the two temples over the position of bettō, and a legal case was brought during the Hōei era. Since the mountain lies on the border between Kōzuke and Shinano provinces, both temples served as bettō, and the haichitsu (distributed documents/talismans) of the Asama Myōjin were issued by both of these temples.
Item: Fugenji Temple, located at the southwestern foot of Mt. Asama in Shinano Province, was not a bettō temple. In a previous year, when fires broke out (during an eruption), more than five hundred people perished in mudflows. At that time, the head priest of this temple, the Venerable Shinkai (a native of the Iwamurota area), lost his mother in the disaster, and received the sympathy of many people.
