一、同じく四日の晩、浅間山が噴き出した火石・砂が五十丈（約150メートル）もの高さに打ち上げられ、大きな石がまりのように飛び交い、煙の先々に石や砂が雨のように降り注いだ。
一、同じく五日の晩、八つ半時（午前三時頃）より浅間山から黒雲が現れ、寅・卯の方角（北東から東の方向）へゆっくりと流れ、その中に直径一丈（約3メートル）余りの光る物体がくるくると回りながら現れた。火はなく、稲妻のようで、その凄まじさは例えようがなかった。天魔・外道の仕業であろうと鉄砲を撃ったところ、吾妻・上州の嶽（山）とおぼしき辺りで、かの光る物体はだんだんと薄くなり、北国の方へ雲が白く散っていった。
一、同じく四日・五日、上州碓氷郡・群馬郡、武州榛沢郡・児玉郡の内では、昼間でも夜のように暗くなり、各家々では行灯を灯し、往還（街道）を行く旅人たちは…

One account: On the evening of the 4th, Mt. Asama ejected fire, rocks, and sand to heights of some fifty jō (approximately 150 meters), with large boulders flying about like handballs. At the leading edges of the smoke, stones and sand fell like rain.
One account: On the evening of the 5th, from around the hour of Hachi-han (approximately 3:00 a.m.), black clouds emerged from Mt. Asama and slowly drifted in the direction of Tora and U (northeast to east). Within these clouds, a luminous object of more than one jō (approximately 3 meters) in diameter spun round and round. It produced no fire, but resembled lightning, and its ferocity was beyond description. Believing it to be the work of demons and heretical forces, people fired guns at it. Near what appeared to be the peaks of Agatsuma and Kōzuke province, the luminous object gradually faded, and the clouds dispersed in a white haze toward the northern provinces.
