吉品公御代元禄十六癸未年跡目被下

His ancestor, a man called Kobori Shimotsuke, served as chief retainer (karō) to Lord Yura Shinano-no-kami
His son, a man called Kobori Hikosaburō, was the father of Shichiu'emon, and served under Lord Andō Ukyō-no-suke
receiving a stipend of 200 koku, but later became a masterless samurai (rōnin) and died
During the reign of Lord Yoshishina, in the 16th year of Genroku, year of the Water Sheep (1703), he was granted succession
