年二月時頼入道最明寺ノ命ニ依テ初テ称号ヲ花木トシ
扇面ノ花ヲ以家紋トス吉時父外記進吉重堀田加賀守殿
ニ罷有吉時モ同上野介殿時代家老役相勤候上野介身上
潰レ候後近江国日野庄ニ引込罷有之処清池院様ノ御局
由緒有之願申上其上江戸御旗本中ノ内ニモ所持申仁有

○花木外記吉時《本国：近江 出生国：不明｜姓：源》
先祖は宇多天皇九代の後裔である佐々木太郎定綱の四代目、六郎左衛門尉信治より吉時に至って十二代目である《血脈相続系図を所持している》。信治は文応元年二月、時頼入道最明寺の命により初めて称号を花木とし、扇面の花を以て家紋とした。吉時の父外記進吉重は堀田加賀守殿に仕えており、吉時も同じく上野介殿の時代に家老役を務めた。上野介の身上が破綻した後、近江国日野庄に引き込もっていたところ、清池院様の御局との由緒があり願い申し上げ、その上江戸御旗本中の内にも所持する人がいたため召し出され、翌年本知の通り下し置かれた。

His ancestor was a descendant in the ninth generation of Emperor Uda, being the twelfth generation from Rokurō Zaemon-no-jō Shinji, who was the fourth generation descendant of Sasaki Tarō Sadatsuna《possesses a genealogical chart showing blood lineage succession》. In the first year of Bun'ō, second month, Shinji first took the surname Hanaki by command of Tokiyori Nyūdō Saimyōji and adopted a fan with flowers as the family crest. Yoshitoki's father, Geki-no-shin Yoshishige, served Lord Hotta Kaga-no-kami, and Yoshitoki also served as chief retainer during the time of the same Kōzuke-no-suke. After Kōzuke-no-suke's downfall, he withdrew to Hino-no-shō in Ōmi Province. Having connections with Lady Seichiin, he petitioned for service, and since there were also people among the Edo hatamoto who could vouch for him, he was summoned to service and granted his original stipend the following year.
During Lord Yoshishina's reign, in the 2nd year of Genroku, year of the Earth Snake, inherited stipend was granted
