The various springs of Shūzenji, compared to simple thermal springs, are considered to have considerably greater therapeutic benefits for skin diseases and the like; and among the mineral springs of Izu Province, their medical efficacy ranks second only to Atami. Their therapeutic effects are similar to those of Konno Hot Spring in Mie District, Ise Province. See Leaf 5.

Three and a half *ri* from Yoshina; six *ri* from Shūzenji; ten *ri* from Atami. Located in three places.
- **Ō-yu (Great Bath)**: Contains sulfurous gas; recommended for eye ailments. Cool in winter.
- **Ko-yu (Small Bath)**: Spring quality same as above. Recommended for hernia, sword wounds, and scabies.

Approximately 1,070 *shaku* or more above sea level. The spring quality is a simple spring containing a small quantity of saline elements. Therapeutic effects are similar to those of Atami in Izu.
