英語訳

[Continued from previous page]…The spring quality is similar to that of Dōsenbō in Yamashiro Province. See leaf 1. **Same (Local) (Analyzed) Ara-yu** Located in Shiobara Village. East-southeast of Ikari Village, approximately 1.5 *ri* to the west. Spring quality contains sulfurous vapor. Recommended for hernia (*senki*) and scabies, among other conditions. **Same (Local) Furumachi** Located in Naka-Shiobara Village. Spring quality contains aluminous and saline vapors. Recommended for hernia and sword cuts, among other conditions. ○ Sumaki-taki-yu: spring quality contains aluminous vapor. (Analyzed) The mineral springs of Shiobara Village are highly acidic and contain green vitriol (*ryokuban*; ferrous sulfate). The large number of springs possessing astringent properties provides evidence that this area is the remains of an ancient volcano — as is the case with places such as Kusatsu. **Same (Miscellaneous) Taki-no-yu** Located in Taki Village. Spring quality is extremely hot, clear and transparent, contains aluminous vapor, and has no odor or taste. Recommended for scabies. **Same (Local) Yunishigawa** Located in Yunishigawa Village. Contains sulfuric acid, aluminous vapor, and iodine ("Yojīmu"). Recommended for hernia, hemorrhoidal conditions, scabies, and similar ailments. **Same (Local) Kawamata** Located in Kawamata Village.
