この地の岩石は帯緑灰色のやや風化した変成岩（カモイコタングループ）である。温泉は12箇所にあり、その温度と1分間に湧出する水の概量を以下に記す。

これらの温泉はすべてほぼ同質で、臭味がなく、沈殿物や硫黄、ガスも含まず、シリカおよび炭酸石灰を含む、やや白色の物質を有するのみである。
同（地）（ラ）湯原：湯原村にあり、疥癬、疝気、痰喘等に効く。川岸に2つの泉があり、1つは温度113度、1つは同143度半である。その湧出量は各々1分間に約5斗、泉質は硫気なく極少のガスを含み、白い石灰質と見える少許の沈殿物がある。
同（地）（ラ）芦牧（アシノマキ）：芦牧村鶴沼川の岩間より湧出する。3つの泉があり、甲の温度106度、乙は109度半、丙は同上。泉水は無味で硫気なく、極少の白い食塩の沈殿物がある。眼疾、脚気等に効く。この湯の対岸に小谷湯があり、温度はほぼ等しい。
同（地）湯岐：湯岐村にあり、温度160度、中風、脚気、外傷、打撲、腫れ物、梅毒等に効く。○石湯：温度120度
同（地）木賊：木賊村にあり、温度130度、泉質は硫気を含み疥癬等に効く。

大沼郡（一）早戸：早戸村にあり、泉質は塩気を含み味渋く塩辛い。積気、外傷、腕痛に効く。温度95度、まだ浴舎を設けず。

The rocks of this area are greenish-gray, somewhat decomposed metamorphic rocks (Kamoikotan Group). There are hot springs at twelve locations, and their temperatures and approximate amounts of water flowing out per minute are listed below.

All these hot springs are of similar quality, have no odor or taste, contain no sediment, sulfur, or gas, and only have slightly white substances containing silica and calcium carbonate.
Yuhara (locality): Located in Yuhara village, effective for scabies, hernia, and phlegmatic asthma. There are two springs by the riverside, one with temperature 113° and one with 143.5°. Each flows about 5 to per minute; the spring quality contains no sulfur gas but minimal gas and has a small amount of white limestone-like sediment.
Ashinomaki: Springs emerge from rock crevices in Tsurunuma River, Ashinomaki village. There are three springs: spring A at 106°, spring B at 109.5°, spring C the same. The spring water is tasteless, contains no sulfur gas, and has minimal white salt sediment. Effective for eye diseases, beriberi, etc. Across from this hot spring is Oya-yu with similar temperature.
Yumata: Located in Yumata village, temperature 160°, effective for paralysis, beriberi, wounds, bruises, swellings, syphilis, etc. ○Ishi-yu: temperature 120°
Tokusa: Located in Tokusa village, temperature 130°, spring quality contains sulfur gas, effective for scabies.
Yunokami village: ○Tate-yu: temperature 110° ○Kiri-yu: same ○Saru-yu: temperature 105°
Onuma County, Hayato: Located in Hayato village, spring quality contains salt and has an astringent, salty taste. Effective for stagnant qi, wounds, and arm pain. Temperature 95°, bathhouse not yet built.
Gojojiki village: Spring quality contains salt, effective for muscle and bone pain, weakness from cold, hernia pain, etc. ○Ara-yu: temperature 120° ○Oisawa-yu: 130° ○Shimo-no-yu: 116°
Oya: Located in Oya village, temperature 90°, taste has acidic quality, effective for eye diseases, syphilis, etc.
Tamanashi: Springs from rock crevices in Nojiri River, Tamanashi village. Temperature 90°, has salty taste, effective for various sores.
Hachimachi: Springs from the banks of Nojiri River, Hachimachi village. Temperature 75°, has salty taste.
Yukura: Springs from rock crevices on the banks of Tadami River, Honmyo village. Temperature 95°, has salty taste, effective for hemorrhoids.
Oshio: Located in Oshio village, temperature 70°, has salty taste, effective for syphilis.
