**出雲（いずも） 意宇郡（おうぐん）（ラ）玉造（たまつくり）**
玉造村にあり。凡そ二拾間以内に三泉あり。泉水は緑灰色を帯び、あるいは薄き褐色の、やや硬き砂石より湧出す。
（一）甲は河畔を距ること凡そ五間にして、泉水湧出の量は一分時間に凡そ一石二斗五升、温度百四十七度二〔華氏〕。
（二）乙は客舎（西村）の中にあり、湧出の量同上、温度百四十四度半〔華氏〕。
（三）丙は河畔にあり、湧出する量は三石一斗二升、温度百四十八度二〔華氏〕。
○泉水は甚だ少許の礦物を含むかのごとし。しかして臭味なく、沈澱物をも残留せず。されども白きものの痕跡を残留す。これ恐らくは食塩なるべし。○当村ならびに湯町において、白瑪瑙（しろめのう）・赤瑪瑙・瑪瑙・「青きジャスパ」（碧玉）および黒水晶を刻みて、佳美なる小飾品の細工を作せり。

**西々条郡（にしにしじょうぐん）（地）奥津（おくつ）** 奥津村にあり。泉質は硫気を含み、金創・疥癬・癩瘡（らいそう）・瘍瘡（ようそう）等に宜し。
**大庭郡（おおばぐん）（地）湯原（ゆはら）** 湯本村にあり。泉質同上。諸瘡毒に宜し。
**真島郡（まじまぐん）（地）真加（まか）** 仲間村にあり。湯原温泉を距ること二里。泉質同上。諸悪瘡・湿毒潰爛（かいらん）するものに宜し。

**Izumo Province — Ou District — (Ra) Tamatsukuri**
Located in Tamatsukuri Village. Within a span of approximately twenty *ken*, there are three springs. The spring water issues from slightly hard sandy rock of a greenish-gray or pale brownish color.
(1) Spring A is approximately five *ken* from the riverbank. Its output is approximately 1 *koku* 2 *to* 5 *shō* per minute, with a temperature of 147.2 degrees [Fahrenheit].
(2) Spring B is situated inside the guesthouse (Nishimura). Its output is the same as above; temperature is 144.5 degrees [Fahrenheit].
(3) Spring C is located on the riverbank. Its output is 3 *koku* 1 *to* 2 *shō*; temperature is 148.2 degrees [Fahrenheit].
○ The spring water appears to contain only a very small amount of mineral matter. It has no odor or taste, and likewise leaves no precipitate—though it does leave a trace of a white substance, which is likely common salt (*sodium chloride*). ○ In this village and in Yumachi (the spa town), craftsmen carve white agate, red agate, agate, "blue jasper," and black crystal (*morion*) into beautiful small ornamental articles.
**Ohara District — (Reference work "Ge") Ushio** Located in Yumura.
**Nita District — (Local source) Misawa** Located in Yumura. The above three locations all have spring water containing sulfurous vapor. Recommended for syphilis, various sores/ulcers, apoplexy/stroke, hernia-type colic, and beriberi.

**Iwami Province — Anno District — (Local) Koyahara** Spring quality contains sulfurous vapor. Recommended for various minor sores.

**Nima District — (Local) (Ra) Yunotsu** More than one and a half *ri* from Nishida, two springs are located on the coast. Temperature is approximately 109 degrees [Fahrenheit]. One spring contains alum, sulfur, and saline elements; recommended for head congestion/hot flushes, eye ailments, hernia-type colic, hemorrhoidal disease, and scabies. ○ The other spring contains four elements—sulfur, salt, iron, and niter—and is recommended for hernia-type colic, beriberi, and numbness in the hands and feet.
**Same (Local) Fukumitsu-Shimomura** Spring quality contains two elements—sulfur and salt—and is lukewarm in temperature. Recommended for scabies and related ailments.
**Same (Local) Amakōchi** Spring quality is clean and possesses a slight odor. Recommended for syphilitic sores, genital ringworm/eczema, fluid retention, and muscular/skeletal cramps and spasms.
**Naka District — (Local) Arifuku** Spring quality contains sulfurous vapor. Recommended for head congestion/hot flushes and headaches. The water is clear and is also used for making tea and other beverages.

**Ōba District — (Local) Yubara** Located in Yumoto Village. Spring quality same as above. Recommended for various festering sores and toxic ulcers.
**Majima District — (Local) Maka** Located in Nakama Village. Two *ri* from Yubara hot spring. Spring quality same as above. Recommended for various malignant sores and weeping/ulcerating toxic sores.
