**同(ゲ)勝浦(かつうら)** 勝浦村にあり。硫・塩二気を含めるアルカリ性の温泉なり。温度九十七度半〔華氏〕。泉色はやや清澄なれども、長く気中に晒す時はほとんど乳様色となる。しかして硫化水素の臭気甚しく、味は灰汁(あく)様にして、かつ硫化水素を帯びて不快なり。泉質・治効は伊豆大湯(おおゆ)に類似す。第九葉を見るべし。
**同(ゲ)本宮(ほんぐう)** 湯の峰村・東光寺の前にあり。温度百九十一度□〔華氏〕※1。泉質は少許の硫気を含めるアルカリ性の含塩泉なり。水はやや清澄にして、硫化水素の不快なる臭あり。治効は龍神の湯に類似す。第六十三葉を見るべし。○この側に椿の湯あり。温度八十二度〔華氏〕。微少の塩気および硫酸を含めるアルカリ性の温泉なり。水は清澄にして、硫化水素の臭気甚し。○(地)湯槽六所に分かつ。泉質は硫気強く、肩・脊・腰・脚の痛み、骨節攣急(ほねふしのひきつるもの)、脚気、風毒、諸悪瘡等に宜し。
**同(地)川湯(かわゆ)** 皆瀬川村の西北、筌川(うけがわ)の水中にあり。湯峰村の南、凡そ一里。泉質は硫気を含み、四肢・骨節の痹痛(しびれ痛み)、風毒、湿瘡等に宜し。

**伊豫(いよ) 温泉郡(おんせんぐん)(ラ)道後(どうご)** 松山の東、半里余、道後村にあり。この温泉は甚だ有名なり。温度百〇四度〔華氏〕にして人身に適す。泉質は硫黄の臭と味とありて、かつ銀に黒色を呈するにより、少許の硫気あるを証す。泉水は蓋にて覆われたる直径凡そ四尺の石筒中より湧出す。しかしてその量は八個以上の大なる浴槽(ゆぶね)を満たすに足れり。○(地)古く熱田津石湯(にぎたつのいわゆ)と云ふ。傷冷毒・小瘡等に宜し。

**Same (Reference work "Ge") Katsuura** Located in Katsuura Village. An alkaline hot spring containing both sulfurous and saline vapors. Temperature: 97.5°F. The spring water is somewhat clear, but when exposed to open air for a long period, it becomes nearly milky in color. The odor of hydrogen sulfide is very strong; the taste is lye-like (*aku*) and unpleasant due to the presence of hydrogen sulfide. The spring quality and therapeutic effects are similar to those of Ōyu (*Izunoōyu*) in Izu Province. Refer to page 9.
**Same (Reference work "Ge") Hongū** Located in front of Tōkōji Temple in Yunomine Village. Temperature: 191°F [?] ※1. The spring quality is a salt-containing alkaline spring with a small amount of sulfurous vapor. The water is somewhat clear with an unpleasant odor of hydrogen sulfide. Therapeutic effects are similar to those of Ryūjin-yu. Refer to page 63. ○ Adjacent to this, there is a spring called *Tsubakiyu* (Camellia Spring). Temperature: 82°F. It is an alkaline spring containing a slight amount of saline and sulfuric acid. The water is clear with a strong odor of hydrogen sulfide. ○ (Local) The bathing facilities are divided into six sections. The spring quality has a strong sulfurous content and is recommended for pain in the shoulders, spine, lower back, and legs; muscular cramps/joint spasms; beriberi; toxic wind ailments; various malignant sores; and related conditions.
**Same (Local) Kawayu** Located in the river water of Uke River (*Ukegawa*), to the northwest of Kaisegawa Village; approximately one *ri* south of Yunomine Village. The spring quality contains sulfurous vapor and is recommended for numbness and pain in the four limbs and joints, toxic wind ailments, and moist/weeping sores.
**Same (Local) Maeyama** Located in Maeyama Village. The spring quality contains sulfurous vapor and is recommended for minor sores and various swellings/abscesses.

**Iyo Province — Onsen District — (Reference work "Ra") Dōgo** Located in Dōgo Village, slightly more than half a *ri* east of Matsuyama. This hot spring is extremely famous. Temperature: 104°F, which is comfortable for the human body. The spring quality has the smell and taste of sulfur, and the fact that it causes silver to turn black confirms the presence of a small amount of sulfurous vapor. The spring water issues from a stone cylinder of approximately four *shaku* in diameter, covered with a lid. The volume is sufficient to fill eight or more large bathing tubs. ○ (Local) It is known in antiquity as *Nigitatsunō Iwayu* ("Stone Hot Spring of Nigitatsu"). Recommended for cold-injury poisoning and minor sores.
**Niigori/Nii District — (Local) Yunotani** Located at Yamazaki in Sunouchi Village. A cold spring containing sulfurous vapor. Recommended for hernia/colic, lower back pain, and minor sores.
**Ochi District — (Local) Kusukubo** A cold spring. Located in Nibukawa Village. Spring quality contains sulfurous vapor. Effective for uterine disease in women.

**Tosa Province — Kami District — (Local) Betchaku** Located at two sites in Betchaku Village. The spring quality at both contains sulfurous vapor. The springs are warm in winter and cool in summer. Recommended for vaginal discharge (*koshike*; leucorrhea), head sores, moist sores, minor sores, and related conditions.
