**Same (Reference work "Ra" / Local) Yunoura** Located in Yunoura Village. Temperature: approximately 104°F. A pale-grey sulfurous precipitate is present in the spring. It is said that silver submerged in the spring for two or three days becomes discolored to black. The spring water wells up from alluvial soil, and its flow rate at low tide is approximately one *to* (about 18 liters) per second, reportedly increasing at high tide. However, as the sea is approximately five *chō* (roughly 545 meters) away and there is no saltiness detectable in the spring water, the theory that it increases and decreases in accordance with the tides is difficult to credit. ○ (Local) The spring quality contains two components, alum and acidic vapors, and is recommended for wind-dampness (*fūshitsu*), beriberi, head sores, minor sores, and similar conditions.
**Same (Reference works "Ge" / "Ra") Hinaku** Located in Hinaku-machi (Hinaku Town). Contains two components, sulfurous and saline vapors. The therapeutic effects are similar to those of the non-saline (*muen*) spring of Atami in Izu Province. Refer to page 8. ○ Matsu-no-yu, Shiraishi-no-yu, Nishi-no-yu, and Naka-no-yu are all similar in spring quality and are simple springs; they therefore have limited therapeutic efficacy. Their temperatures range from 106°F to 111°F. ○ Within an east–west distance of approximately 100 *ken* (roughly 180 meters), there are eight springs. Furthermore, at a coastal location approximately 100 *ken* away from that site, there is one additional spring known as Hamayu ("Beach Spring"). The temperatures and per-second flow rates of the spring water are as follows:
○ Hamayu: temperature 116.6°F, flow rate approximately 3 *shō* 7 *gō* (approx. 6.7 liters/sec.). ○ Aburaya-yu: temperature same as above, flow rate 7 *shō* 5 *gō* (approx. 13.5 liters/sec.). ○ Iseya-yu: temperature same as above, flow rate reportedly small (4). ○ Nakamachi Shin-yu: temperature 113°F, flow rate reportedly small. ○ Motoshioya-yu: same as above in both respects. ○ Tsukiji-nishi (West Tsukiji): temperature 111.2°F, flow rate 2 *shō* 5 *gō* (approx. 4.5 liters/sec.). ○ Tsukiji-higashi (East Tsukiji): temperature 109.4°F, flow rate approximately 3 *shō* 7 *gō* (approx. 6.7 liters/sec.). ○ Hon-yu: temperature 107.6°F, flow rate reportedly small; wells up from alluvial soil, and gas bubbles constantly rise to the surface of the water. ○ Kame-no-toshi, also known as Kadoshioya: temperature 105.8°F, flow rate reportedly small. All of the above are of roughly the same quality and contain a small quantity of sulfurous vapor.
