英語訳
**[Right folio]**
**Variety: Saijōgaki** (Saijō persimmon)
This is a famous product of Hiroshima in Geishū Province (present-day Hiroshima Prefecture). In shape it resembles the Gosho persimmon, being round and flat. Because the flavor is astringent, it makes an excellent dried persimmon (*hoshigaki*).
**Variety: Emon** (lit. "right guard"; a cultivar name)
In shape it resembles the Yūhimaru, with slight depressions on all four sides and a somewhat pointed tip. When this variety is also processed into *rinshi* (taru-nuki; astringency-removed persimmon), it becomes a superior product.
**[Left folio]**
**Variety: Yamaemon** (lit. "mountain emon")
In shape it resembles the Emon, but is somewhat smaller, with a concave tip. This variety is likewise made into *rinshi*.
**Vermilion Persimmon** (*shushi*) [from the *Jikkai* / Collected Explanations]
**Jūmonji** (lit. "cross-shaped")
In shape it resembles the flat persimmon (*hiragaki*), with a cross-shaped depression at the tip, and slight depressions on all four sides as well. When ripe, it is a beautiful vermilion-red color, and the flavor is sweet.
