主張（しゆちよう）するゆへに世俗（せそく）もこれを信（しん）して十人が
十人なからその説（せつ）に雷同（らいとう）することなれどつ
まひらかにおもへは左（さ）にはあらす又｜礜石礬（よせきばん）
石雄黄砒石（せきおおうひせき）の類（るい）より湧（わく）といへる説（せつ）もとよ
り非（ひ）なり又｜龍（りよう）の旺気（わうき）にて湧（わく）くといへる
は妄談尤甚（もうたんもつともはなはた）し弁（べん）するにたらす唐子西（とうしせい）
の只是在（たゝこれてんちの）＿二天地間（あいたにあつて）＿一自為（おのつから）＿二一類（いちるいたり）＿一受（しようを）＿レ性本然不（うくることもとしかり）
必有（かならすしも）＿レ待然後温也（まつことあつてしこうしてのちあたゝかならす）といへるは手のつかぬ

現代語訳
（硫黄の力で温泉が湧くという説を）主張するため、世間の人々もこれを信じて、十人が十人とも、その説に付和雷同することになっているが、つぶさによく考えてみればそうではない。また、礜石・礬石・雄黄・砒石の類から湧くという説も、もとより誤りである。また、龍の旺気によって湧くという説は、妄言も甚だしく、弁じるにも値しない。唐子西が「ただ天地の間にあって、おのずから一つの種類であり、その本性を受けることが本来そうであり、必ずしも何かを待ってからでなければ温かくなれないわけではない」と言っているのは、一見手の施しようのない（深遠な）説のようではあるが、これもつまるところ、温泉が温泉である所以を知らぬ説であって、良いとは言えない。
一 かつて游子六が著した『天経或問』を拝見したところ、その中にこのようなことが述べられていた。
太陽（日輪）の光が日々地に透り通って温熱を生じ、その温熱の気が地中に入って積み重なって乾燥をなし、乾燥が極まると地中の気に乗じて火となる。その火が地脈（地の中の筋道）に従って

Because they advocate (that hot springs arise from the power of sulfur), the common people believe this as well, and nine out of ten — indeed all ten — blindly follow this view. However, upon careful examination, this is not the case. The theory that hot springs arise from minerals such as arsenolite (礜石), alum stone (礬石), realgar (雄黄), and arsenic (砒石) is likewise fundamentally mistaken. As for the theory that hot springs arise from the vital energy (旺気) of dragons, this is the most absurd of all claims and is not even worth refuting. What Tang Zixi said — that hot springs simply exist as one distinct category within the realm of heaven and earth, receiving their nature as it inherently is, and need not wait for any particular condition to become warm — appears at first glance to be a profound and untouchable argument; yet this too, in the end, is a theory that fails to understand the very reason why hot springs are hot springs, and cannot be considered satisfactory.
One: I had occasion to read the 『天経或問』 (Tianjing Huowen / Questions and Answers on the Heavenly Classics) written by You Zilu, and within it the following was stated:
The light of the sun (the solar disk) penetrates daily into the earth, generating warmth and heat. This warmth and heat enters into the earth and accumulates, creating dryness; when this dryness reaches its extreme, it rides upon the energy within the earth and becomes fire.
