抔の英田（えた）長倉は《割書：田は川上御所平辺に有之｜長倉は沓懸辺にアリト》名而己のこりて
何と方もなしたま〳〵大伴様は残りあれとも
漸望月の片不とり桐が谷（ヤ）￣ツ御嶽の社の片端に
借家同前の侘住居有歟無歟に片付られヶ様
の時にもすご〳〵と末席に御（ヲワ）坐するこそ口惜き
相成と云を打けし田の口新海￣ヤア其儀
不心得｜英田（エタ）長倉大伴共に昔ゟ今におゐて
我社内に鎮座之名のみ残￣りしなどヽは偽り
望月は末社にして我社本社に極つたりと
色をそこねて申さるヽ大伴は我ゟ外には
候はず￣イヤ左様では￣イヤ左様と互の争ひ
既に違乱に及ばんとす以相曽￣ノ明神立寄て
大伴の明神をかたへに伴ひ色々と宥め
被申候而は迚も古来の事を申すなら日光権現
や我々迚も古よりの社地奪ひ取れ傍に
かゞ見居る心外には存れ共時代なれば
現代語訳
「英田（えた）・長倉は（割書：田は川上御所平辺にあり、長倉は沓懸辺にあると）名前のみ残って、何ともなしたまたま大伴様は残りあれども、漸く望月の片隅にとり、桐が谷一つ御嶽の社の片端に、借家同然のわびしい住まいがあるのかないのかに片付けられ、このような時にもすごすごと末席においでになるのこそ口惜しくなった」と言うのを打ち消して、田の口・新海の神が「やあ、その儀は心得違い。英田・長倉・大伴ともに、昔から今に至って我が社内に鎮座の名のみ残ったなどとは偽りで、望月は末社にして我が社こそ本社と決まっている」と顔色を変えて申されると、大伴は「我より外には候わず」と言い、「いや左様では」「いや左様と」と互いの争いが既に違乱に及ばんとす。
相曽（あいそ）の明神が立ち寄って大伴の明神を傍らに伴い、色々と宥め申されては「とても古来のことを申すなら、日光権現や我々とても古くよりの社地を奪い取られ、傍に控えて見ている心外には存じれども、時代なれば」
英語訳
"Eta and Nagakura (marginal note: Eta is said to be located around Kawakami Gosho-daira, and Nagakura around Kutsukake) remain in name only, and while the Otomo deity still survives, they have been reduced to a barely-there, wretched dwelling like a rented house at a corner of the Mochizuki precinct and the edge of the Ontake shrine in Kirigaya. Even at a time like this, to meekly take your place at the lowest seat — how regrettable this has become!"
This was cut off by the deities of Tanokuchi and Shinkai, who declared: "What an mistaken notion! To say that Eta, Nagakura, and Otomo have, from ancient times to the present, only retained the name of being enshrined within our shrine precincts — that is a falsehood. Mochizuki is a subsidiary shrine, and our shrine is definitively the main shrine!" Their faces flushed as they spoke.
Otomo retorted: "There is none other than myself!" and "No, that is not so!" — "No, that is so!" — the dispute escalated to the point of open conflict.
The Aiso deity stepped forward and, drawing the Otomo deity aside, soothed them with various words: "Even if we were to speak of ancient matters, the Nikko Gongen and we ourselves have had our old shrine grounds taken away and have been left to watch from the sidelines — though we find this deeply unjust, since these are the times..."
