人は利根川老僧砂田泡の入道小山判

謀をなし石火失国崩シを数百挺かまへおいて
郡馬吾妻勢音のふして近所まておびき
寄一度に火ぶたをきつて放ちみな殺しに
せらるべしとはかり事をさずけ其外百目二
百匁の大筒所々に構置各々五匁拾匁の
鉄炮お以｜聯殊炮（レンジユホウ）の謀をなし所方の要害

千里駆け落ちの駿足や、あるいは逐電鹿毛などという名馬にまたがり、各々が心得ている鉄の棒や、手持ちの武器、あるいは借り受けた武器で身なりを整えて鳴り物入りで、追分原を目指して一斉に駆け集まった。浅間山は大いに喜び、すぐに万沢太郎と白子五郎を招いて言った。「お前たち二人は利根川老僧、砂田泡の入道、小山判官、時場等と相談して、砂袋と排水による碓氷の計略を練り、石火矢や国崩しを数百挺準備しておいて、群馬・吾妻の軍勢が音を立てて近所まで誘き寄せたところを、一斉に火蓋を切って撃ち放ち、皆殺しにするという謀略を授けた。その他、百目・二百匁の大筒を所々に構え置き、各々五匁・十匁の鉄砲をもって連珠砲の謀略を練り、要所要所の要害に伏せ置いて、合図があれば狼煙を上げ、千羽馬火乱星相図の大太鼓を打ち立てて、一同に攻め掛かるべし」と。

They mounted famous steeds called "Senri-kakeochi" (thousand-ri galloping horses) or "Chikuten-kage" (lightning bay horses), each carrying iron clubs they were skilled with, weapons they possessed, or borrowed armaments, making a great clamor as they rushed together toward Oiwake-hara plain. Mount Asama rejoiced greatly and immediately summoned Banzawa Taro and Shirako Goro, saying: "You two shall consult with the old monk Tonegawa, the monk Sunada-awa-no-nyudo, Koyama Hangan, Nishiba and others to devise a strategy using sandbags and drainage at Usui. Prepare several hundred stone-fire arrows and castle-breakers, and when the Gunma and Agatsuma forces approach nearby making noise to lure them in, simultaneously ignite the fuses and fire to massacre them all." He also instructed them to position large cannons of 100 and 200 monme at various locations, and to devise continuous-fire strategies using 5 and 10 monme firearms positioned at strategic strongholds. When the signal comes, they should raise beacon fires and beat the great war drums in the "thousand-horse fire chaotic star formation," attacking all at once.
