このことが白雲山へ聞こえたので、諸方に内通して軍の用意が急がれることとなった。真っ先に赤城大明神が、吾妻・群馬・利根・新田等の神々を同道して加勢をなさったのであった。榛名権現は手前の要害を固めて城中に立て籠もった。鳴神郡は万力太郎・早風などという手勢に大勢を添えて、大将役として軍を立てるにあたっては、山風荒神・ひや打朱丸等に命じて要害を守らせ、城を堅固に守って夜討ちなどに用心し、「必ずこちら側から外へ打って出ることなく、我が境内の用心だけをして手寄せを防ぐことこそ肝要である」と言って、厳しく命令を下して構えられた。荒舟の神々は信州と上州の境にあるので、どちらにも加わりがたく、自らの一山を用心して守られたのであった。西牧・東牧の神々も荒舟・破風山の意に同じくして、妙義への加勢はしなかったのであった。かくして白雲山……

When word of this reached Hakuun-zan (White Cloud Mountain), secret communications were sent in all directions and preparations for battle were urgently made. First and foremost, the Great Deity of Akagi, accompanied by the gods of Agatsuma, Gunma, Tone, Nitta and other districts, came forward to render assistance. The Gongen of Haruna fortified its own strongholds and shut itself within its castle walls. In Narukami district, forces known as Manriki Taro and Hayakaze and others were reinforced with large numbers of troops. In organizing the army's command, Mountain Wind Kojin (荒神), Hiyauchi Shumaru and others were ordered to guard the strongholds.
