Item: In the third month of the second year of Tenmei, the Year of the Tiger (Tenmei 2, 1782), he was granted one set of used hemp kamishimo (o-furu-asa o-kamishimo) as the allotment for the previous summer, and one used small-sleeved robe (o-furu o-kosode) as the allotment for the previous winter. Note: While it had been customary to grant one set of hemp kamishimo twice a year, once in summer and once in winter, given that he had also been serving in an additional role (kayaku) and had continued his permanent attendance (jōzume) without interruption, the kamishimo that was to have been granted in the previous winter was converted into a kosode (small-sleeved robe) and granted in its place. Furthermore, it was decreed that henceforth, one of the two annual grants would be converted and granted as a kosode or a hitoe (unlined summer robe). Item: In the twelfth month of the same year, by the gracious wish of Lady Senmyōin, he was granted one set of hemp kamishimo and one unlined haori (short coat). Item: In the seventh month of the fourth year of Tenmei, the Year of the Dragon (Tenmei 4, 1784), by the gracious wish of the御用人 (go-yōnin, Senior Household Steward), he was granted one set of hemp kamishimo. Item: In the first month of the fifth year of Tenmei, the Year of the Snake (Tenmei 5, 1785), as he had no male heir, his petition to take Nagayoshi, the younger brother of Ōnuma Gosaburō, as his son-in-law and adopted heir (muko-yōshi) was granted as requested.
