（前ページより続き）乗物御免の誓詞を取り調べ、それより御礼として御用番・松平左近将監（乗邑）殿ならびに御目付中を廻勤した。
一、六月三日 御帰国御礼の御使者・本多左門が御城へ罷り出たところ、檜之御用番間において松平伊豆守殿が出座され、御返書を御渡しになった。その節、左門へ御巻物二巻を拝領するよう仰せ付けられた。
一、同月四日 西丸御老中・松平能登守（乗賢）より御呼び出しがあり、御帰国御礼の御使者・本多左門が罷り出たところ、御返書を御渡しになった。
一、同月十一日 土岐丹後守（頼稔）殿が御加判列（老中職）に仰せ出された御祝いとして、江戸表へ御書を差し出された。
一、同日 御帰国御礼の御使者が御目見え、かつ自ら御礼を仰せ付けられたことの御礼として、江戸表へ御書を差し出された。
一、同月十五日 右同断につき、御使者が拝領物を仰せ付けられたことの御礼として、江戸表へ御書を差し出された。
一、同月十九日 暑中につき御機嫌を御伺いするため、御使者として大御番・剣持弥七（正■）を江戸表へ差し出された。今日（十九日）福井出立。
一、同月二十三日 右同断につき、御書をもって例の通り国産の索麵を献上された。
一、同月二十五日 端午の御祝儀献上につき、御内書ならびに御奉書が御城において御渡しになった。御家来への拝領物等は例の通り。

(Continued from the previous page) — the written oath (seishi) regarding permission to use a palanquin was duly completed. Thereafter, as a courtesy call, he made the rounds to the duty senior councilor Lord Matsudaira Sakon-no-Shōgen (Norimura) and the Inspectors (metsuke).
Item: On the 3rd day of the 6th month, Honda Saemon, the messenger dispatched to offer thanks for His Lordship's return to the domain, proceeded to Edo Castle, where Lord Matsudaira Izu-no-Kami was present at the Duty Councilor's Cypress Chamber (Hinoki Goyōban-no-Ma) and delivered the official reply letter. On that occasion, Saemon was granted two scrolls as a gift.
Item: On the 4th day of the same month, summoned by the West Citadel Senior Councilor (Nishi-no-Maru Rōjū) Matsudaira Noto-no-Kami (Norikane), the envoy for the return-to-domain congratulatory message, Honda Saemon, appeared before him and received the official reply letter.
Item: On the 11th day of the same month, a congratulatory letter was dispatched to the Edo residence upon the announcement that Lord Toki Tango-no-Kami (Yoritoshi) had been appointed to the Senior Council (rōjū).
Item: On the same day, a letter was dispatched to the Edo residence as thanks for the audience granted to the return-to-domain congratulatory messenger and for the personal audience bestowed upon him.
Item: On the 15th day of the same month, a letter was dispatched to the Edo residence as thanks for the gifts (hairyōmono) that had been bestowed upon the messenger mentioned above.
Item: On the 19th day of the same month, as an inquiry after His Shogunal Highness's health during the summer heat, Kenmochi Yashichi (Masa-■) of the Great Guard (Ōbangumi) was dispatched as messenger to the Edo residence. He departed Fukui on this day.
Item: On the 23rd day of the same month, in connection with the above, a letter was sent along with a customary offering of locally produced sōmen noodles, as per precedent.
Item: On the 25th day of the same month, regarding the presentation of congratulatory gifts for the Boys' Festival (Tango no Sekku), a private letter (uchisho) and an official letter (ōsesho) were delivered at Edo Castle. Gifts bestowed upon retainers were as per precedent.
