兵部大輔御暇之節拝領之御鷹ニ而羽合候鳫鴨
前々年内献上仕候処旧冬国許深雪ニ付右之鳫
鴨未出来不仕候当月中旬迄之内ニ致出来候ハゝ
前々之通生鳥ニ而可差上事ニ御座候其以後ニも
及候者時節も暖気相成可申ニ間塩鳥ニ而差上候
而も苦ヶ間敷儀ニ御座哉此段奉伺候様ニ従国元申

**口上覚（口頭申し上げの覚書）**
兵部大輔（御暇の節に）拝領いたした御鷹にて羽合わせ候雁・鴨を、前々は年内に献上仕り候ところ、旧冬（昨冬）、国許（福井）にて深雪のため、右の雁・鴨がいまだ出来（獲得）仕らず候。当月中旬までの内に出来候わば、前々のとおり生鳥にて差し上げるべき儀にございます。その以後にも及び候わば、時節も暖気相成り申すべきにつき、塩鳥にて差し上げ候ても差し支えなき儀にございましょうや。この段、御伺い申し上げ候よう、国元より申し越し候。以上。

一、同月七日、若菜の御祝儀として、御使者を以て例のとおり、御肴（鯛）を献上された。

**Memorandum of Oral Statement (Kōjō Oboegaki)**
The geese and ducks caught by the falcons received as a gift during Hyōbu-no-Taifu's leave of absence had previously been presented within the year; however, due to heavy snowfall in the home domain (Fukui) last winter, the said geese and ducks have not yet been obtained. Should they become available by mid-month, we intend to present them as live birds, as has been the precedent. Should the matter extend beyond that time, as the season will have grown warmer, we respectfully inquire whether it would be permissible to present them as salted birds (shio-dori) instead. We have been asked by the home domain to submit this inquiry. Respectfully submitted.

Item: On the 3rd day of the 1st month, as a congratulatory gift for the New Year's first utai (noh chanting ceremony), a messenger was dispatched following precedent, and a ceremonial sake stand and sake money were presented.
Item: On the same day, as Lord Saheibe-no-Suke (Nao-■) had been granted a court rank last winter, a letter was dispatched to Edo to express formal gratitude.
Item: On the 4th day of the same month, at the summons of the duty official (goyōban) Honda Nakatsukasa-no-Taifu (Tadayoshi), the resident caretaker (rusui) Asai Genzaemon (Masayuki) appeared before him, and received instructions that, regarding the matter of presenting geese and ducks — as previously inquired about — should they become available during the current month, the presentation should be made with a document citing precedents (go-senrei-sho) attached.
Item: On the 7th day of the same month, as a congratulatory gift for the Young Greens (Wakana) celebration, a messenger was dispatched following precedent, and a side dish of sea bream (tai) was presented.
