――竹千代様へ御名乗（おなのり）を進（たてまつ）られ候につき、御歓（よろこび）として差し出された御使者・本多猪蔵（成敏）が江戸に着き、御用番へ罷り出て御書を差し出した。
一、同日、若年寄（わかどしより）・西尾隠岐守（忠尚）殿より御内々（ごないない）の御申し渡しとして、御曲輪（おくるわ）外に出火の節、御曲輪内より駆け付ける人数を差し出すべからずとの旨があった。中屋敷・下屋敷等へ手当ての人数を差し出した場合はこの限りではないとの旨、御目付・津田外記殿より御留守居へ御相達（おあいたつ）があった。
一、正月十一日、年始三ヶ日の御規式（ごきしき）が相済み候につき、御祝儀として江戸表へ御書を差し出され、例のとおり御肴〔鯣（するめ）〕を献上された。
一、同月十六日、智高院様の八十の御年賀（ごねんが）につき、初姫様が霊岸嶋（れいがんじま）の御屋敷へ御出ましになり、新御殿にてお請待（うけまち）として御祝儀の御饗応（きょうおう）があった。
一、同月二十一日、竹千代様の御袴着（おはかまぎ）の御祝儀として、公方様（くぼうさま）へ御使者・御奏者番（おそうじゃばん）大道寺孫九郎（繁郷）を以て、昆布一箱・干鯛一箱・御樽一荷を献上された。御本丸にて御奏者番・戸田越前守（忠余）殿の家来へ相渡した。
一、大納言様より竹千代様へ御使者・御番頭（おばんがしら）恒岡安左衛門（伯江）を以て、右同断を献上された。御部屋様（おへやさま）へ御使者・上月久右衛門（景芳）を以て、昆布一箱・干鯛――（以下次頁に続く）

—A messenger, Honda Inozō (Naritoshi), had been dispatched to convey the formal name announcement to Lord Takechiyo, as an expression of congratulations. Upon arriving in Edo, he presented himself to the duty official and delivered the letter.
Item: On the same day, through the intermediary of the Inspector (metsuke) Tsuda Geki, a confidential directive was communicated to the resident caretaker (rusuī) from the Junior Elder (wakadoshiyori) Nishio Oki-no-Kami (Tadanao). The directive stated that in the event of a fire breaking out outside the castle enclosure (kuruwa), personnel from within the enclosure were not to be dispatched to respond. However, an exception was made for cases where personnel were deployed to provide assistance at the middle or lower residences (nakayashiki, shimoyashiki).
Item: On the 11th day of the 1st month, as the three-day New Year ceremonies had been concluded, a congratulatory letter was dispatched to Edo, and, following precedent, a food offering of dried squid (surume) was presented.
Item: On the 16th day of the same month, in celebration of the eightieth birthday of Lady Chikō-in, Lady Hatsuhime traveled to the residence at Reiganjima, where she was received at the new palace and entertained in celebration.
Item: On the 21st day of the same month, as a congratulatory gift for Lord Takechiyo's hakama-wearing ceremony (hakama-gi), a messenger—the shogunal announcer (sōjaban) Daidōji Magokurō (Shigasato)—was dispatched to the Shōgun, presenting one box of kelp (konbu), one box of dried sea bream (hoshi-tai), and one cask of ceremonial sake. These were handed over to the retainer of the shogunal announcer Toda Echizen-no-Kami (Tadamasa) at the Main Keep (Hon-maru).
Item: From the Lord Great Counselor (Dainagon) to Lord Takechiyo, a messenger—the troop commander (bangashira) Tsuneoka Yasozaemon (Hakukō)—was dispatched, presenting the same items as above. To the Lady of the Chamber (o-heya-sama), a messenger—Kōzuki Kyūemon (Kageyoshi)—was dispatched, presenting one box of kelp and one box of dried sea bream—(continued on the following page)
