**Wansei (碗青 / Azurite-type Pigment)**: Brought from Shemen Island, it is a stone of rare quality. After careful appraisal and deliberation among connoisseurs, it was given the name *Butsutōkō* ("Buddha-head incense/pigment"). It is a pigment used for painting patterns on earthenware before firing in the kiln.
**Inkstone (Suzuri-ishi)**: Found throughout the area known as "Shiroi Beach" (White Beach) in Ishizaki Village, beyond Hakodate. There are also deposits along the riverbed of the Surui River on the shaded side of the mountain. I had some carved by craftsmen in Edo and keep pieces in my possession. Transportation to Japan proper would be easy.
**Stalactites (Shōnyūseki)**: Said to be found in a cave at the cape of Ōta Mountain in Western Ezo, where a stone Jizō statue is enshrined.
**Coal**: Found in Hetsushafu Village, within the Kusuri trading post territory.
