法に先米の高を左■置銀を右に置米にて右の
かねをわれは二十八匁としるるなり
銀十匁には米何ほとそととふ時

方法として、まず米の総量を左に置き、銀を右に置く。米で右の金額を割ると、二十八匁とわかる。
銀十匁では米はどれだけになるかと問う場合、
○三斗五升七合一勺になるという。
方法として、銀の総量で米の総量を割ると、三斗五升七合一勺とわかる。右の計算と前後（逆）の関係である。
一、米一石四升あり、代金三十六匁四分で買った場合、一石はいくらになるかと問う時、
○一石につき三十五匁にあたる。
方法として、三十六匁四分を一石四升で割ると、三十五匁になる。

また、十匁につきどれだけかというのは、金額で米を割る計算である。
一、四斗俵が八千六百四十俵ある時、これを石に換算するといくらになるかと問う時、
○三千四百五十六石になるという。
方法として、まず左に四斗と置き、右に八千六百四十俵と置く。四斗を右に掛けると、三千四百五十六石とわかる。
一、三千四百五十六石ある時、これを四斗俵にすると何俵になるかと問う時、
○八千六百四十俵になるという。
方法として、左に四斗と置き、右に三千四百五十六石と置く。

The method: First place the total amount of rice on the left and the silver on the right. Dividing the amount of silver on the right by the rice gives 28 monme.
When asking how much rice one gets for 10 monme of silver:
○ The answer is 3 to 5 shō 7 gō 1 shaku.
The method: Dividing the total amount of rice by the total amount of silver gives 3 to 5 shō 7 gō 1 shaku. This calculation is the reverse of the previous one.
One problem: When one koku and 4 shō of rice was purchased for 36 monme 4 bu, what is the price per koku?
○ The answer is 35 monme per koku.
The method: Dividing 36 monme 4 bu by 1 koku 4 shō gives 35 monme.

Furthermore, asking how much one gets per 10 monme is a calculation of dividing rice by the price.
