船一艘に米250石を積んで、どこへでも運ぶとき、運賃は米100石につき7石ずつとする。250石の中から運賃を支払うとき、運賃の米はどれほどか、と問う場合。
○運賃は16石3斗5升5合1勺4才である。
計算法：250石を右に置いて、7石を掛けると1,750になる。また左に107石を置いて、これで右の1,750を割ると、16石3斗5升5合1勺4才となると知るべし。

**《Problem 15: On the Freight Charges for a Boat》**
When one boat is loaded with 250 koku of rice and transported to any destination, the freight charge is 7 koku per 100 koku of rice. When the freight is to be paid from within the 250 koku, how much rice constitutes the freight charge?
○ The freight charge is 16 koku, 3 to, 5 shō, 5 gō, 1 shaku, 4 sai.
**Method:** Place 250 koku on the right and multiply by 7 koku; this gives 1,750. Then place 107 koku on the left, and divide the 1,750 on the right by this, and you will find it equals 16 koku, 3 to, 5 shō, 5 gō, 1 shaku, 4 sai.
