　　初寅の日、御掃除の次第　（木舟両官ならびに社務代参向）
　　　ただし、十一月朔日が卯の日にあたり、相嘗会の
　　　　時は、十月晦日にこれを執行される。
　　　なおまた、この日、杦原（すぎはら）二枚を美濃紙にて巻き、
　　　　札紙を付けて社頭へ差し出すべきこと。もっとも社号を
　　　　書き付けるべし。
　刻限（酉の刻）に至り、社司（衣冠）各々参向して廊下の座に着く。
　　（旧記には申の刻とある）　まず社頭に参集すること、常のごとし。
次に所司大夫、廊下の座に来たりて、各参集の者に対し、

　御箒を進発すべきや否や、その旨を問う。
次に別当大夫、廊下の座に来たりて、何日に臨時祭を
　執行すべきか召し問われる。
　（旧記に云う：別当が来て「臨時祭を執行すべきや」と問い、社務が「執行されるべき」と申す。その時、別当は「然らば
　両殿の御掃除があるべし」と申して退下。祝方へ参向し、「何日に臨時祭が執行されるにつき、両殿の御掃除を執行されるべし」と申して退下する。
　ただし、御箒は進発の時、中門において陰陽大夫がこれを清める。）
次に陰陽大夫、廊下の座に来たりて、社司の身体を祓う（常のごとし）。
次に目代、松明を取り、小庭に立つ。
次に預大夫、御鑰（みかぎ）を正祝に渡す（常のごとし）。

　　Procedures for the Sweeping Ceremony on the First Tiger Day　(Attended by both Kifune officials and the Shamusodai)
　　　Note: If the first day of the eleventh month falls on a Rabbit Day and coincides with the Niinamesō-e (Aname-kai) ceremony,
　　　　the ritual is to be carried out on the last day of the tenth month instead.
　　　Furthermore, on this day, two sheets of cryptomeria-bark paper (sugihara) are to be wrapped in Mino paper,
　　　　affixed with a label slip, and submitted to the shrine precinct. The name of the shrine
　　　　is to be written on the label.
　Upon arrival at the appointed hour (the Hour of the Rooster), the shrine priests (shashi), in formal court dress (ikan), each proceed to their seats in the corridor.
　　(The old records state: the Hour of the Monkey.) First, they assemble at the shrine precinct as usual.
Next, the Shoshi-dayū comes to the seat in the corridor and asks those assembled

　whether the sacred broom (obōki) should be brought forth.
Next, the Bettō-dayū comes to the seat in the corridor and is asked on which day the extraordinary festival (rinji-sai)
　is to be performed.
　(According to old records: The Bettō comes and asks "Shall the extraordinary festival be performed?" The Shamusō replies "It shall be performed." Thereupon, the Bettō states "In that case, a sweeping of both sanctuaries shall take place," and withdraws. He proceeds to the Hafuri-kata and states "Since the extraordinary festival is to be performed on such-and-such a day, the sweeping of both sanctuaries shall be carried out," and withdraws.
　Note: The sacred broom, at the time of its presentation, is purified by the Onmyō-dayū at the central gate [Chūmon].)
Next, the Onmyō-dayū comes to the seat in the corridor and performs a ritual purification (harae) of the shrine priests' bodies (as usual).
Next, the Mokudai takes a torch and stands in the small courtyard.
Next, the Azukari-dayū hands the sacred key (mikagi) to the Shōhafuri (as usual).
