The kayu-tsue (rice gruel staff) is brought out from the inner sanctuary (along with the round cushion), and the chief and deputy Negi lower it in sequence inside and outside the sacred door. The Shingū Negi passes it to the Ōta Negi, who places it against the railings (kōran). Next, the sacred chopsticks are presented and the divine offerings (shinju) are made (first by the Negi's side, then by the Hōri's side). After the sacred sake (o-miki) has been offered by the Negi's side, those of lower rank return to their seats in order, as is customary. The Kataoka Negi proceeds directly, and then the shrine officials from the Shingū Negi downward rise from their seats and proceed to a certain shrine (however, the two officials of Kibune remain in their seats). The Kannagi, Hōri, and Negi take their seats in the Norito-ya (祝詞屋, the liturgy hall), while the two deputy officials (Gon-ryō-kan) set out the divine offerings in the outer sanctuary (ge-jin) and, when finished, take their seats in the Norito-ya. The five officials (go-kan) recite the liturgies (norito) — but first, the custodian (azukari) reports that the norito at the Kataoka Shrine has been completed; when the norito is finished, the two Kibune officials withdraw. Next, the two deputy officials clear away the offerings from the outer sanctuary and return to their original seats. Then the Kannagi and the Hōri advance and enter the inner sanctuary. Next, the Negi and the Gon-negi attend on the left and right of the great floor (ōyuka). Next, the Gon-hōri and the Kataoka Negi; then the Kataoka Hōri and the Shingū Negi await on the steps. continuing on to the main shrine precinct, and after a brief pause with all assembled, they take their seats in the Mihyakuya (御籍屋) and present the divine offerings (in the same seating arrangement as on the seventh day, with a fire brazier and a hanging lantern stand below the seats of the chief Negi and Hōri). When the naorai (直会, post-ritual communal meal) is finished, the hand-washing (temizu) is performed (beside the Chinese-style gate, attended to by the shoshi official). Next, the evening divine meal (yu-no-shinsen) is presented (prepared and offered by the duty shrine official).
Upon returning to the precincts of the two main shrines of the tutelary deity (ujigami), the kayu-tsue is received. The kayu-tsue is received at the same time as the sacred key is returned to the custodian.

**Proceedings for Attendance at a Certain Shrine**
The two chief officials and the tensō-nin (転供人, those who transfer the offerings) take their seats in the haiden (worship hall). The tōne (刀禰, a shrine functionary) lifts the sacred chest (o-hitsu), and the jinin (神人, shrine servants) carry the sacred chests. Next, the Hōri rises from his seat, advances, and opens the sacred door (each person places their round cushion down and prostrates themselves). Then the Negi advances and both enter the inner sanctuary together. Next, the tensō rises from their seat and advances to the doi (earthen enclosure). Then the blinds (sudare) are rolled up. The tōne passes the sacred chest to the tensō; the tensō lifts it and passes it to the great floor, where the shrine officials receive it and place it upon the sacred table (go-daiban). The blinds are lowered, and the kayu-tsue is brought out (on top of the two officials' go-chōdai; the Negi is on the left and the Hōri on the right; "toshiton" refers to the horizontal rim of the ceiling of the go-chōdai). Both officials perform the ceremony and then proceed to the outer sanctuary. The tensō-nin take the staves, suppress (hold down / attend to) the inside and outside of the left and right sacred doors, and then pass them to the tōne. Next, the two officials exit the inner sanctuary; the Negi returns to his seat in the haiden, and the Hōri offers the divine offerings in the outer sanctuary and returns to his seat.
