四月午日御禊
前日に榊の枝で御生所を囲み、矢刀禰引が神人等を率いてこれを囲む。本宮権殿及び末社等の御燈籠を兼ねて張り改めさせる。神主以下各々その祠官等がこれを取り仕切り、その料紙を所司目代の役者に相渡す。なお当日巳の刻（午前10時頃）までに社頭へ杉原紙二枚半、紙二枚を持参させることとする。
酉の刻過ぎ（午後6時過ぎ）《御参三度は神人が役を務める》、社司等が衣冠を着して侍所に参集する。御服所別当が神服辛櫃を舁いて来て中央に置く。次に所司大夫が「御箒を立ててよろしいか」と問い、「はい」と答える。次に社司各々が起座して土屋に着く《ただし氏神両官はそのまま残留する》。次に神服辛櫃を発遣し、氏神両官と御服所別当がこれに随って若宮拝殿に置く。氏神両官は土屋に帰着する。次に御箒が進発し、次に祠官が起座する。

Purification Ritual on the Day of the Horse in the Fourth Month
On the previous day, the sacred birthing area (mi-ikisho) is surrounded with sakaki branches, and the yato negi-in leads the shrine attendants (jin-jin) to encircle it. The sacred lanterns of the main shrine's temporary hall and subsidiary shrines are renewed and properly arranged. The head priest and other shrine officials oversee this work, and the necessary paper supplies are delivered to the deputy administrator's servants. On the day itself, by the hour of the Snake (around 10 AM), two and a half sheets of sugihara paper and two sheets of regular paper must be brought to the shrine grounds.
After the hour of the Cock (after 6 PM) 《the threefold sacred visits are performed by the shrine attendants》, the shrine officials don court dress and gather at the attendants' quarters. The superintendent of the sacred vestments has the sacred garment chest carried and placed in the center. Next, the deputy administrator asks "May we raise the sacred broom?" and receives the reply "Yes." Then each shrine official rises and goes to the earthen building 《however, the two officials of the tutelary deity remain behind》.
