**[Right Page]**
(The Kannagi and Hafuri) rise from their seats and proceed into the inner sanctum. The Shō-negi and Gon-negi attend at the Ō-yuka (main floor); the Gon-hafuri and Kataoka Negi attend at the sacred steps; the Kataoka Hafuri and Shingū Negi attend at the sacred steps; the Shingū Hafuri, Wakamiya Negi, and Hafuri each attend below the steps as Negi-kata. (The shrine officials of the three shrines—Kataoka, Shingū, and Wakamiya—after completing the rites at their respective shrines, return once more to their seats in the Tōrō and Watari-dono, and join the procession when the inner sanctum sacred offerings are withdrawn.)
Next, the sudare (bamboo blinds) are rolled up. The Mokudai (deputy official) advances into the small garden and takes hold of a torch. Next, the sacred trays (o-ban) are advanced to the Ō-yuka. Next, the sacred offerings are cleared away (from both left and right sides), all transferred to the Negi-kata. Next, the shrine officials below the steps move, beginning with the most junior, to the Hafuri-kata's Watari-dono. Next, the divine garments (jinpuku) are presented (brought out from the sacred vestment chamber), three times (piled on the lid of a plain-wood coffer). When this is done, the shrine officials descend the steps and gather together at the Hafuri-kata. The five officiants (go-kan) take their norito seats, recite the norito, clap their hands in ritual, and beginning with the most junior advance to the Doi (earthen platform), prostrate once, and withdraw to the Hafuri-kata. The Hafuri advances to the Ō-yuka and closes the sacred doors (all present prostrate). The Azukari-dayū advances and ascends, presents the wrapped sacred lock, takes the sacred key, and withdraws. The Hafuri descends to the Doi, prostrates once, and withdraws. The shrine officials each depart, make a circuit of the various shrines in worship, and take their seats at the administrative hall (chō). (The Kannagi and Shō-negi proceed from inside the board partition; the Gon-negi and below proceed from outside the board fence. The Shō-hafuri and below ascend from the direction of the worship hall at the Nara Shrine. The shrine officials of Ōta, Nara, Sawada, Ujigami, and other shrines, after completing the rites at the respective shrine precincts, proceed directly to the seats at the administrative hall; they make their circuit of worship at the respective shrines in the course of proceeding to each.)
Items passed at the administrative hall seats: Sacred chest (for morning provisions, set out from the start as a standing arrangement); evening provisions; sacred confections; Hanabira rice cakes.
**[Left Page]**
Direct offerings (jikisō) for the sacred meal: lightly salted sea bream, 4 pieces; Hanabira, 90 pieces (of these 9, 2 pieces serve as the standing arrangement at the administrative hall); skate/ray, 2 pieces; sweetfish (ayu), 2 pieces; reed (ashi), 2 bundles.
The above are the direct offerings (jikisō) of the two main officials.
