They should be placed by the side of the stairs. In ancient times, the shrine deputy would sweep and wipe the boards below the stairs
and other areas (likewise). Now this is not done.
Next, the sacred offering stand is advanced into the inner sanctuary (especially from the shrine maiden officials)
Next, summer divine robes are offered and winter divine robes are replaced (in this ceremony, the deputy of the sacred robe office)
at the blessing officials' area, takes them out from the sacred chest in the connecting hall, places them on the lid of the sacred chest,
passes them to the clan deity blessing official, and the shrine officials transfer them in order. On the third time, the winter divine
robes are removed.
Next, the shrine officials retire in order starting from the lowest rank (as usual, but the sacred keys of the deputy master are not given to both the Ota and clan deity officials)
Next, the shrine officials of the subsidiary shrines each come and sweep clean their respective shrines (as in the ceremony of the main shrine)
【Left Page】
However, the sacred offerings, sacred cloths, etc. are put into one sacred chest, combining the shrine maiden and blessing officials' items:
four sacred brooms and two sacred cloths. Moreover, last year's sakaki and other items are put into that sacred
chest and removed to the outer sanctuary. However, since the Ota and clan deity shrines will attend later,
the shrine officials of both shrines complete their pilgrimage up to Nara shrine and
return to the shrine precincts (waiting in attendance)
Next, the five officials take their seats in the prayer recitation hall and complete the prayers (in this ceremony, Kataoka shrine goes first, as usual)
Next, the blessing official ascends and closes the sacred door and fastens the sacred lock (as usual)
Next, each shrine official exits, makes pilgrimage from Wakamiya to Nara shrine, and enters
the second torii gate
Next, each shrine official goes to the sacred birth place (in this ceremony, they approach via the west gate of the shrine precincts, etc.)
