梵相（ほんさう）の奇古（きこ）座立（さりふ）の威儀（いき）儼然（けんねん）として生（いける）か如（こと）く其（その）妙手（めうしゆ）常人（しやうしん）のおよは
さる所あり瞻礼（せんらい）する者をして霊山（りやうせん）一会（いちゑ）未散（みさん）の嘆（たん）あらしむ同八年
乙亥夏五月 《割書：鐘（かね）の銘（めい）に｜七月とす》 公聴（こうちやう）に達（たつ）し本境（ほんきやう）一千五百 畝（ほ）を賜（たま）ひ
又 天恩山羅漢寺（てんおんさんらかんし）の号（な）を賜（たま）ふ依（よつて）仮（かり）に堂宇（たうう）を造立（さうりふ）して仏像（ふつさう）を遷（うつ）
せり同年八月 黄檗（わうはく）高泉和尚（かうせんおしやう）偶（たま〳〵）東行（とうかう）あり迎（むかへ）て点眼（てんけん）の導師（たうし）とす
又 先師（せんし）鉄眼和尚（てつけんおしやう）をして開山祖（かいさんそ）とす是（これ）其原（そのもと）を貴（たふと）むの故（ゆへ）とそ又其時
黄檗山（わうはくさん）の末寺（まつし）となる松雲禅師（しよううんせんし）其頃（そのころ）既（すてに）伽藍（からん）建立（こんりふ）の企（くはたて）ありといへとも

現代語訳
仏像の相好は奇古で、座っている姿や立っている姿の威儀は厳然として生きているかのようであり、その巧みな手技は常人の及ぶところではない。参拝する者をして霊鷲山の法会がまだ終わっていないかのような感慨を抱かせる。同八年乙亥の夏五月《鐘の銘文には七月とある》、幕府に申し出が受け入れられ、本境内一千五百畝を賜り、また天恩山羅漢寺の寺号を賜った。これにより仮に堂宇を建立して仏像を移した。同年八月、黄檗宗の高泉和尚がたまたま東国への旅があり、迎えて開眼の導師とした。また先師の鉄眼和尚を開山祖とした。これはその本源を尊ぶ故である。またその時、黄檗山の末寺となった。松雲禅師はその頃すでに伽藍建立の計画があったが、時機が至らず、宝永七年庚寅に一度病気にかかり、月を越えても回復せず、ついに同年秋七月十一日に静かに示寂した。その時六十三歳であった。《法臘四十二年》

The features of the Buddhist statues are mysteriously antique, and their dignified bearing whether seated or standing is so majestic that they appear alive. Their skillful craftsmanship is beyond what ordinary people can achieve. They make worshippers feel as if the assembly at Vulture Peak has not yet dispersed. In the same eighth year, summer of the fifth month of Kinoto-I (though the bell inscription says the seventh month), the petition reached the government, and they were granted 1,500 tan of temple grounds, as well as the temple name "Tennōzan Rakanji." Accordingly, they temporarily constructed temple buildings and relocated the Buddhist statues. In the eighth month of the same year, Zen Master Kōsen of the Ōbaku sect happened to be traveling east, so they welcomed him as the officiating priest for the eye-opening ceremony. They also made their former master, Zen Master Tetsugen, the founding abbot, out of respect for their origins. At that time, the temple also became a branch temple of Mount Ōbaku. Zen Master Shōun already had plans for constructing the temple complex at that time, but the proper time had not yet come. In Hōei 7 (1710), Kōno-Tora year, he once fell ill and did not recover for over a month, finally passing away peacefully on the 11th day of the 7th month of autumn that year. He was sixty-three years old at the time. (42 years since ordination)
