Nobuhisa-kyō donated fields for the annual insect removal ceremonies for the complete Buddhist scriptures in the sutra repository of the shrine temple to the sutra office. Consequently, on June 11th, Nobuhisa-kyō's death anniversary, the monks unfailingly conduct the annual insect removal ceremonies for the complete scriptures. Also, during this shrine administrator's tenure, in the Kenmu years, Emperor Go-Daigo made an imperial visit to this shrine and stayed overnight. Furthermore, during Nobuhisa-kyō's time, there was a pagoda dedication ceremony at the shrine temple. The ritual involved setting up a stage above the pond of the shrine temple, with rehearsal ceremonies lasting two days, and all the dancing children were descendants of shrine officials and parishioners. This dedication ceremony was organized and conducted by parishioner Kamewaka-dayū Shigekatsu. Due to his merit in this, although he was a grandson of a shrine official, he was appointed to the position of assistant head priest of the clan deity.
During Nobuhisa-kyō's tenure, on the twenty-eighth day of the sixth month of Kenmu 1, during the morning assembly after the representative meeting, when the shrine administration faction and the parishioner faction engaged in various verbal disputes, the general parishioners kicked over the seating arrangements and had the shrine household parishioners Utama-dayū Ensada and Otsuichi-dayū Nobuchikatsu brandish sacred treasures at their lodgings. Consequently, Nobuhisa submitted a list of the ringleader parishioners, and when this reached the imperial hearing, officials from the administrative office came to the shrine area to investigate the details. However, when the general parishioners gathered at the temporary shrine building and engaged in various questions and answers, the officials returned. As Nobuhisa-kyō frequently made appeals, twelve parishioners received imperial censure. Nevertheless, within a few days they received imperial pardon and had their Ōrai fields restored. This Nobuhisa-kyō repaired or constructed several buildings and also built many small shrines. For future generations, he was a shrine administrator who brought prosperity to the shrine grounds—truly unprecedented prosperity.
Sadahisa (second son of Tadahisa)
On the eleventh day of the fifth month of Kenmu 2, he received the transfer from Nobuhisa-kyō and was appointed as head priest (age 42). On the twelfth day of the eighth month of the same third year, he was dismissed from office. In the second year of governance (age 43), before Sadahisa became shrine administrator, when he held the position of head priest, the deputy administrator position of Shiichi-shō in Tanba Province was permanently donated to the parishioner community. This was because during Motohisa's time there had been a donation in previous years, which Sadahisa revived when it came under his jurisdiction.
Fundamentally, the time when Sadahisa held office was a period of rebellion throughout the realm. Emperor Kōgon made Tō-ji temple his...
