はへつめよりてとをる也又懸にて鞠をつめ
よる時かゝりの中半分に過侍らは木の外へ
出てめくるへし木の外へ出る時人と木との
間をやふるへからす但其木の本に立たる人
のきていまた立なをらさるひまありてあ

忠を尽くし興を催すべきである。しきりに
自他の分を明らかにして、一人一人が声の色を
添えて、進退が乱れないものの、激しく
蹴るべきである。
一 道の仕事
およそ懸の中を、普段の時も通ることは慎むべきである。
ましてや会の時は中を通らず、また軒の方も
むやみに通らない。場に臨んでも貴人の
御後ろ、御前、またはしかるべき人の前後ともに
たやすく通るべきではない。通らなければならない時は
いかにも遠く離れて、垣の際の見物人の側
へと詰め寄って通るのである。また懸で鞠を詰め
寄る時、懸の中半分を過ぎれば木の外へ
出て回るべきである。木の外へ出る時、人と木との
間を破るべきではない。ただしその木の下に立っている人が
退いてまだ立ち直らない隙間があって

clarifying the distinction between oneself and others, each person should add
vocal expression while maintaining proper deportment, and though the movements remain orderly, one should

Article 1: Proper Conduct (Dō no Shigoto)
In general, passing through the middle of the懸 (playing area) should be avoided even during ordinary times.
Moreover, during formal meetings, one must not pass through the middle, nor should one
carelessly pass by the eaves area. Even when present at the venue, one should not
easily pass behind or in front of noble persons,
or before and after persons of appropriate rank. When one must pass,
one should move as far away as possible, approaching close to the spectators
at the edge of the fence before passing. Also, when pursuing the ball in the懸,
if one passes the midpoint of the懸, one should
exit outside the trees and circle around. When going outside the trees, one must not
break between a person and a tree. However, if the person standing at the base of that tree
has moved away and there is still a gap before they resume their position
