買喰なひに
水きれるとは
此時江戸にて水道破レ水切レ壱荷ニ付百三拾
弐文位を米は百文に八合位仕裏店の
もの中々取続事不叶如此

高砂や此裏店に戸をあけて舂米
買に出しをのなみたあわれの
嶋布子壱ツ有物置過てはや
す化あいはつきて取り〳〵
右者江戸表殊之外米相場高直浅
は下直中々取続相成兼裏店之者は
渡世相成不申候仍而右ヲ言

砂が降る神にも知れない
米相場
買い食いに
水が切れるとは
この時江戸にて水道が破れ水が切れ、一荷につき百三十二文位、米は百文に八合位で、裏店の者はとても生活を続けることができない有様である。
謡にこしらえる
高砂や、この裏店に戸を開けて、米を搗いて
買いに出す、その涙はあわれの
島布子一つある物を置き過ごして、やす
化、愛は尽きて、取り取り
右の件は江戸表において、特に米相場が高値で、浅間（山の灰）は安値、とても生活を続けることができず、裏店の者は生業が成り立たない。よって右のことを言う

The above matter concerns Edo, where rice prices were especially high, while Asama (volcanic ash) was cheap. It was impossible to continue making a living, and the people in the back-alley tenements could not sustain their livelihoods. Therefore, this matter is being reported.
