現代語訳
右は此の年、とんとん唐辛子、ひりひり
辛い笠松の子などと言う
寿［？］と言って唐辛子売りある
起こりもなく候。右をも知り、
このように作り申し候。右の外、色々
奥寄等その外出来致し候得共、この本へは
大概は印（刷）致し申さず候。よくよく相改め、噺の種も
相成る者ばかり書き抜き一冊を撰び申し候。

The above are from this year, "tonton red pepper, burning hot
spicy Kasamatsu's child" and such sayings.
There is a red pepper seller called "Kotobuki [?]"
without any particular origin. Knowing this as well,
I have composed them in this manner. Besides the above, various
okugi (hidden verses) and others have been created, but in this book
most are not printed. After careful revision, selecting only those
that could serve as material for storytelling, I have compiled one volume.
