帰申候由翌日両御奉行所様江
申上候得者御吟味之上江戸表江
罷出候節御断も無之其上
御名代の出申候ニ付ひつ足#1被

御奉行所様
一、本郷大蔵は七月七日夜に帰参したとのことで、翌日両御奉行所様へ申し上げたところ、ご吟味の上、江戸表へ出向いた際にお断りもなく、その上御名代が出向いたのに不足していると申し付けられ、その段を申し渡した。
申し渡し 本郷大蔵へ
お前は以前から行状がよろしくない様子が聞こえている。今春中に松本へ赴き、そこから直に出府したとのことだが、その際役所へ出府の件を届け出ず、かなりの間を置いて後から届け出た段は不届きである。その上今度の江戸表での一件の処理方法も段々と不埒であると聞いている。全く不調法の至りである。これにより、前回指し免じられていたが、今まで用いていた刀について、今度は前々の通り申し出るよう命じられているので、そのように心得るべきである。
午年七月十日
右の通り竹田七郎右衛門様がお月番で、山形五左衛門様がお立会いにて七月十日夕方六つ時に本郷大蔵を同道させて申し渡された。特に大蔵の刀の件についても私どもが受け取り、本郷源五左衛門方へ渡すようにと申し付けられたので、すぐに源五左衛門方へ渡した。

1. Hongō Ōkura returned on the night of the 7th day of the 7th month. When this was reported to both Magistrate's Offices the following day, after investigation, it was determined that when he went to Edo he gave no prior notice, and moreover he was absent when a deputy was dispatched. He was reprimanded for this, and this matter was conveyed to him.
Official Notice To Hongō Ōkura
Your conduct has long been reported as unsatisfactory. This spring you went to Matsumoto and from there directly proceeded to the capital. At that time you failed to report your departure to the office, and only reported it after a considerable interval had passed, which was improper. Moreover, the way you handled the recent incident in Edo has been reported as increasingly improper. This is extremely negligent behavior. Therefore, although you were previously granted exemption, regarding the sword you have been using until now, you are ordered to report it as was done previously, so you must understand this accordingly.

As stated above, with Takeda Shichirō Uemon serving as monthly duty officer and Yamagata Gozaemon in attendance, on the 10th day of the 7th month at the evening hour of six, Hongō Ōkura was brought along and this notice was delivered. Particularly regarding Ōkura's sword, we were ordered to receive it and deliver it to Hongō Gengozaemon's residence, so we immediately delivered it to Gengozaemon's residence.
