宮ノ下は塔ノ沢から次第に登って箱根山の中腹にある。土地は高く開けた場所である。西・北・南の三方は連山が波濤のようで、東の方は湯本山を境に小田原の大海原を見晴らし、眼下には堂ヶ島、白糸の滝等が鮮明に見える。この所の戸数は四十戸余りが軒を並べて不自由はない。湯宿は五軒あったが、奈良屋・藤屋の両家に圧倒され、残りは転業した者もあり、また夏季のみ営業する者もあるが、わずかに旧名を残すのみである。

Miyanoshita is located on the mid-slope of Mount Hakone, gradually ascending from Tonosawa. The land is elevated and open. Three directions - west, north, and south - are surrounded by mountain ranges like ocean waves, and to the east, with Yumotoyama as the boundary, one can view the great ocean of Odawara, with Dogashima and Shiraito Falls clearly visible below. This place has over forty households lined up with their eaves, and there is no inconvenience. There were five hot spring inns, but they were overwhelmed by the two houses of Naraya and Fujiya.
