現代語訳
橋があり、これを旭日橋という。橋を渡れば湯本である。この場所は東の方が開けており、北は塔ノ峰の険しい山々がそびえ立ち、南に向かって山石垣山を見ることができ、西は城山が取り巻いて、その麓に湧き出る温泉の谷である。前には早川の流れが清らかで、人家の北を流れており、景色が特に美しい。
この場所の戸数はわずか18戸で、そのうち内湯と称するものは福住、小川の両家のみである。残りの6、7軒はすべて外湯で、ひっそりとしている。

この福住は最近、洋風の石造3階建てを建築し、その建築の美しさを尽くして、これを金泉楼と名付け、かつ西洋料理も提供している。

旅客の接待が最も懇切丁寧である。そのため入浴客が途絶える日がないという。
総湯 熊野権現の山と小川萬右衛門宅の間にあり、内部を4つの浴槽に仕切っている。
この湯は内湯2軒以外はみなここで入浴するので総湯と呼ぶ。この湯は昔は早雲寺足洗湯と呼ばれていたそうである。

There is a bridge called Asahi Bridge. Once you cross the bridge, you reach Yumoto. This location is open to the east, with the steep peaks of Tō-no-mine rising to the north, Yamaishi-gakeyama visible to the south, and Shiroyama surrounding it to the west, with hot spring valleys bubbling up at its foothills. In front, the clear flow of the Hayakawa River runs north of the houses, creating particularly beautiful scenery.
This place has only 18 households, of which only two families, Fukuzumi and Ogawa, are called "uchiya" (private bath houses). The remaining 6 or 7 establishments are all "sotoyu" (public baths) and are quite quiet.

This Fukuzumi recently constructed a Western-style three-story stone building, sparing no expense on its architectural beauty, naming it Kinsenrō, and also serves Western cuisine.

The hospitality for travelers is most cordial and attentive. Therefore, it is said that there is never a day without bathers.
Sōyu (Main Public Bath): Located between Kumano Gongen mountain and the residence of Ogawa Manemon, the interior is divided into four bathing areas.
Since everyone except the two private bath houses bathes here, it is called Sōyu (main bath). This bath was formerly called Sōun-ji Ashiarai-yu (Sōun Temple Foot-washing Bath).
