此書ハ浜海禦備ノ仕法水陸戦法ノ可否武術調練ノ得失ニ至ル迄スへテ当今諸兵家ノ
問答先輩未発ノ高論ヲ撰ヒ輯メテ彼我ノ強弱虚実ヲ了知シ我カ
神国ノ武威ヲ以テ一地球ノ大敵ニ対シ必勝ノ利アルコト明ニシ人々生質微妙ノ英才ヲ引

此書ハ 皇国海岸禦備ノ仕法殊ニ大坂ハ帝都ニ近ク浦賀ハ江戸ニ近シ何レトモ緊
要ノ地ナレハ必勝ノ備ヲ設ケ夷賊数千ノ軍艦或ハ大阪港ニ押ヨセ或ハ房相両岸ノ内エ

この書は、浜海防御の仕法、水陸戦法の可否、武術調練の得失に至るまで、すべて当今の諸兵家の問答、先人未発の高論を選び集めて、彼我の強弱・虚実を了知し、我が神国の武威をもって一地球の大敵に対し、必勝の利があることを明らかにし、人々の生まれ持った微妙な英才を引き起こし、百戦百勝の奇策妙計がそれぞれの胸中から湧き出るに至るための書である。
水戦要略（すいせんようりゃく） 全
この書は、皇国海岸防御の仕法、とりわけ大坂は帝都に近く、浦賀は江戸に近く、いずれも緊要の地であるから、必勝の備えを設け、夷賊数千の軍艦が或いは大阪港に押し寄せ、或いは房総・相模両岸の内へ乗り入れたときに、またたく間に皆殺しにする兵術を記し、また一地球万国の夷賊等が一時に押し来り、皇国を囲み攻めるとも、小をもって大を討ち、百戦百勝する水戦必勝の要訣を記すものである。
陸戦要略（りくせんようりゃく） 全
この書は、海外の夷賊が我を侮り押して上陸し、大小の砲銃・ボンベン・毒煙・柘榴弾・葡萄弾などの利器をもって打ち挫こうとする激しい勢いの賊兵に対して防戦する術を記す。とりわけ古代軍法の陳述に固執せず、また当時流行の西洋流にも倣わず、ただ皇国の弓馬・剣槍修練の強さを失わず、これを活用・妙施して、小をもって大を撃ち、百戦百勝の術を記す。以上三書は、翁が古今未発の三秘書であると言う。

Essentials of Naval Warfare (Suisen Yōryaku) Complete
This book records methods of defending the coasts of the Imperial nation, with particular attention to Osaka — which is close to the Imperial capital — and Uraga — which is close to Edo — both of which are positions of critical importance. It describes the military techniques for establishing preparations that guarantee victory, and for annihilating in an instant enemy barbarian fleets of thousands of warships, whether they press upon Osaka harbor or push into the waters along the shores of Bōsō and Sagami. It also records the essential secrets of naval warfare for defeating a large enemy with a small force and winning every battle, even should the barbarians of every nation on the entire globe press in simultaneously and surround and attack the Imperial nation.
Essentials of Land Warfare (Rikusen Yōryaku) Complete
This book records the techniques for defensive combat against the furiously charging barbarian troops from overseas who, despising us, force their way ashore and attempt to overwhelm us with weapons such as large and small cannons, bombs (bonpen), poison smoke, grenades, and grapeshot. It does not adhere rigidly to the doctrines of ancient military law, nor does it follow the Western-style methods currently in vogue, but instead preserves the strength developed through the Imperial nation's training in archery, horsemanship, swordsmanship, and spearmanship, applies them with flexible ingenuity, and records the techniques for defeating a large force with a small one and winning every battle. The venerable author declares these three books above to be three secret works of a quality never before seen in all of history.
