【巻下七丁裏】
法によこ廿六間を二つにわれは十三／間（けん）に
なる是を廿八間にかくれは三百六十四坪と

Method: Add 9 ken to 14 ken to get 23 ken. Divide this by two to get 11 ken and a half. Multiply this by the length of 23 ken to get 264 tsubo and a half. Set this aside. ○ Next, divide 8 ken by two to get 4 ken. Multiply this by 9 ken to get 36 tsubo. Add this to the 264 tsubo and a half set aside, to get 300 tsubo and a half. Divide by 3, the standard divisor for rice paddies, to get 1 tan, 5 bu.
