斑蝥　古い舶来品に二種を検査した。『本草原始』によると、斑蝥は甲虫で、七、八月に大豆の葉の上にいる。長さは五、六分で、黄黒の斑文があり、鳥のような腹と尖った口吻を持ち、葉の上で採取して陰干しする。「斑」はその色を言い、「蝥」はその毒が矛で刺すようだということを言う。俗に斑猫と誤って呼ばれる。

Hanmyō (blister beetle) - I examined two types from old imported specimens. According to the "Honzō Genji" (Origins of Materia Medica), hanmyō is a beetle that appears on soybean leaves in the 7th and 8th months. It is five to six bu long, has yellow-black spotted patterns, a bird-like abdomen and pointed proboscis, and is collected from leaves and dried in shade. "Han" refers to its color, and "myō" refers to its poison being like a spear thrust. It is commonly but erroneously called hanbyō (spotted cat).
