現代語訳

【右丁】
刻んだ薬を綴って巣を作り、蓑虫に似ている。頭に触れると尾の方へ素早く逃げる。何の薬ということなく、湿気から自然に発生する。牛肉などにも発生する。およそ乾燥したものに発生する。後に蛹となり、小さな蛾となって飛び去る。

米蛆（こめうじ）《古くなった米に発生する白い虫である》
冬春にウグイを釣るのに、このものを用いるのが良いと言う。
形は平たく、虫眼鏡で見ると白い毛が粗くついている。

【左丁】
神麹（しんぎく）の虫は孔を開けて肉を空洞にする。羽があり、よく飛ぶ。

諸薬に付く虫　羽があり飛ぶ。蓮肉、沢瀉（たくしゃ）等の刻んだ薬材に発生する。

赤小豆の虫　孔を開けて空洞にする。湿気を含むと自然と内部に発生する。羽があり飛ぶ。

It creates a nest by binding together chopped medicines, resembling a bagworm. When its head is touched, it quickly retreats toward its tail end. It spontaneously generates from moisture regardless of what medicine it is. It also develops in beef and other items. Generally, it develops in dried materials. Later it becomes a pupa and transforms into a small moth that flies away.

Rice maggot (kome-uji) 《A white worm that develops in old rice》
It is said to be good to use this creature when fishing for sweetfish in winter and spring.
Its form is flat, and when viewed through a magnifying glass, it has coarse white hairs.
