　伊達（だて）の本場（ほんば）より所産（いつるところ）又は栗原郡沢田村《割書：平兵衛と云る｜者の家より出る》より
　出るを佳（よし）とす凡（およそ）養蚕（こかい）する人 蚕種（こたね）を其年の夏中（なつちう）
　に求（もとめ）白紙（しらかみ）の袋（ふくろ）下の方一方口にして入れ《割書：蚕種紙の端へ糸を付釣置也｜是は気をもらす為なり》
　其家の床（とこ）の上か又は穢（けからは）しからぬ所にて壁際（かべきわ）を除（よけ）秋はじ
　めまて掛置（かけおき）それより取仕廻（とりしまい）箱（はこ）箪笥（たんす）の類（るい）へ入置其年
　の寒入（かんいり）已後（いこ）午（むま）の日を選（ゑらみ）《割書：養蚕に午の日を用ゆる事 周礼鄭玄（しゆらいじやうけん）の註（ちう）に｜蚕は馬と気をおなしふすと云る事有是に本つくか》

現代語訳

　し、神魂を安らかにするものであって、凶作の年や飢饉の年
　には、桑の実の熟したものを日に晒して乾燥させ、
　粉にして一日に一合五勺ほどずつ水
　で三度摂取すれば飢えをしのぐことができるということだ。
　よろしくこれを重要視すべきである。

　およそ養蚕をするには蚕種を選ぶことを第一とする。大体、奥州では
　伊達の本場から産出されるもの、または栗原郡沢田村（平兵衛という
　者の家から出るもの）から
　出るものを良しとする。およそ養蚕をする人は、蚕種をその年の夏中
　に求め、白紙の袋の下の方一方を口にして入れ（蚕種紙の端に糸を付けて吊るして置く。
　これは気を通すためである）、
　その家の床の上か、または汚れていない所で壁際を避け、秋の始め
　まで掛けて置く。それから取り片付けて、箱や箪笥の類に入れて置き、その年
　の寒入り以後、午の日を選んで（養蚕に午の日を用いることは、『周礼』鄭玄の注に
　「蚕は馬と気を同じくする」という記述があり、これに基づくのか）

　In general, when raising silkworms, selecting silkworm eggs is of primary importance. Generally, in Ōshū,
　those produced in the original location of Date, or those from
　Sawada Village in Kurihara District (produced by the household
　of a man called Heibei) are considered good. Generally, those who raise silkworms should obtain silkworm eggs during the summer
　of that year, place them in white paper bags with one opening at the bottom (attach strings to the edge of the silkworm egg paper and hang them.
　This is to allow air circulation),
　and hang them in clean places in the house, such as above the floor, avoiding wall edges, until early autumn.
　Then store them away in boxes, chests, and similar containers. After the beginning of winter that year,
　select a horse day (The use of horse days in sericulture may be based on Zheng Xuan's commentary on the Rituals of Zhou,
　which states that "silkworms share the same qi as horses").
