の陵へ遣わして、太子を廃することを申し上げた。十一月、御子安殿親王を太子とした。
五年正月、従三位右衛門督坂上苅田麻呂が卒去した。歳五十九。この人は弓馬に達していて、内裏の守護であった。田村麻呂の父である。
六年十月、交野に行幸された。大納言藤原継縄の別荘を御座所とした。継縄を勅使として、天神を交野に祀らせた。光仁天皇も祭られた。
七年正月、太子が元服した。大納言継縄、中納言紀船守が、御冠を加え奉った。二月、故藤原百川の子緒嗣が十五歳で、御前において元服した。百川の旧功を仰せ出され、御落涙があって、様々な賜物があった。位を授けて封戸を賜った。

In the first month of the fifth year, Sakanoue no Karitamaro, Junior Third Rank and Director of the Right Palace Guards, died at the age of fifty-nine. This man was skilled in archery and horsemanship and served as protector of the imperial palace. He was the father of Tamura-maro.
In the tenth month of the sixth year, the Emperor made an imperial progress to Katano. The villa of Senior Councilor Fujiwara no Tsuguna served as the imperial residence. Tsuguna was appointed as imperial messenger to enshrine the heavenly deities at Katano. Emperor Konin was also enshrined there.
In the first month of the seventh year, the Crown Prince came of age. Senior Councilor Tsuguna and Middle Councilor Ki no Funamori placed the crown upon him. In the second month, Otsugu, son of the late Fujiwara no Momokawa, came of age at fifteen in the imperial presence. Momokawa's past merits were proclaimed, and with imperial tears, various gifts were bestowed. He was granted court rank and awarded stipend households.
