三条大納言公茂が内大臣に任じられた。九月、伏見法皇が崩御された。年五十三であった。
二年二月、主上（花園天皇）が皇位を東宮尊治親王に譲位された。主上は二十二歳、東宮はすでに三十二歳余りでいらっしゃったため、後宇多上皇をはじめとするその方面の人々が待ちかねて申されるだろうということで、関東（鎌倉幕府）より計らい申したのであったという。年号は延慶三年、応長一年、正和五年、文保二年で、合わせて在位十一年であった。

Sanjō Dainagon Kimishige was appointed to Naidaijin. In the ninth month, Retired Emperor Fushimi passed away at the age of fifty-three.
In the second year, second month, His Majesty (Emperor Hanazono) abdicated the throne to Crown Prince Takaharu. Since His Majesty was twenty-two years old and the Crown Prince was already over thirty-two years old, it was said that Retired Emperor Go-Uda and others of that faction had been waiting impatiently, so the Kantō (Kamakura Shogunate) arranged for this [abdication]. The era names were Enkyō three years, Ōchō one year, Shōwa five years, and Bunpō two years, totaling eleven years of reign.
