現代語訳
『日本王代一覧』は、神武天皇より正親町院に至るまでを収め、全七帖からなる。若狭国主、従四品左少将源忠勝朝臣の求めに応じ、国史・小説等を考証し、その繁雑なる部分を削り、要点を提示して新たに撰述し、ここに呈上するものである。

The *Nihon Ōdai Ichiran* (A Survey of the Reigns of Japanese Sovereigns) spans from Emperor Jinmu to the Ōgimachi-in, comprising seven volumes in total. In response to the request of the Lord of Wakasa Province, Junior Fourth Rank, Left Minor Captain Minamoto no Tadakatsu Ason, the national histories and miscellaneous records were examined, their redundancies removed and their essentials extracted, and the work was newly compiled and hereby respectfully presented.
An auspicious day in the fifth month of the fifth year of Keian (1652), the year of the Water Dragon.
