現代語訳
人民が真の幸福を得て永久の太平を実現することを望む。万が一、国民同士が争う場面において、我が軍の強大な兵力に頼ってそれを用いようとする必要が生じたときには、我々はこの凶器（武力）を廃絶し、ただ信義の道をもって互いに戦わせるだろう。
我々が今一度『フランス』国の勇武の威光を輝かせる旗を我が大軍の前面に翻す時には、『ヨーロッパ』州中に我が大改革の聖なる意志を示すことに似ており、もって各国はみな我々を師表（手本・模範）とするだろう。
報国の心をもって、その励むべき教えに従う大軍よ、奮励せよ。今、我は汝らの上に立ちて指揮を執る……
英語訳
We hope that the people will attain true happiness and achieve lasting peace. Should it come to pass that nations fall into conflict with one another, and should there arise a need to rely upon and employ our powerful military strength, we shall abolish these instruments of destruction and allow them to contend with one another solely through the path of good faith and righteousness.
When we now once again unfurl the banners that illuminate the valor and might of 『France』 before our great army, it is as though we are displaying the sacred will of our great reform to all the nations of 『Europe』, and thus every nation shall take us as their model and guide.
