〔前頁より続き〕立つのである。総じて、軒の方が「あがり（上座）」である。その■■■（判読不能）人の御立所のあがりである。軒の■（判読不能）も同前。

一、南向きの庭・西向きの庭・北西の庭・東向きの建物であっても、木の在る場所はこの通り■（判読不能）を変えず〔同様である〕。
　　政盛が私見として付け加える。仮令（たとえ）いずれの方向を向いた庭であっても、軒の右は松、左は橘、松の向かいは楓、橘の向かいは柳であるべき旨の事である。

是（これ）を半紙を横に持ちて、また竪（たて）に二つに持ちて、大指（おやゆび）を左巻きに巻いて、して、かもかさき（冠蓋先？）結びに上げて結んで、さて引き回して、指の内と脇も結んで際（きわ）〔まで締める〕。

英語訳

[Continued from previous page] …and thus one stands. In general, the direction toward the eave (*noki*) is the position of honor (*agari*, upper seat). The standing position of ■■■ (illegible) person is also the position of honor. The ■ (illegible) of the eave is likewise the same.

Item: Whether the garden faces south, west, northwest, or the building faces east, the placement of the trees remains ■ (illegible) unchanged, as described here.
　　Masamori adds the following as a personal note: Regardless of whichever direction a garden faces, the rule is as follows — to the right of the eave is the pine (*matsu*), to the left is the tachibana (wild orange), facing the pine is the maple (*kaede*), and facing the tachibana is the willow (*yanagi*). This is the prescribed arrangement.

Take a sheet of *hanshi* (half-sheet paper) held horizontally, then hold it folded vertically in two, wrap the thumb in a leftward (counter-clockwise) winding, and then, raising it into a knot at the tip (*kamokasaki*-knot?), tie it, then draw it around, and tie at the inside of the fingers and also at the side, up to the edge.
