下りて鉦鼓のところで寄せてとある。ただし勝負を窺う
ことである。取り込んで勝手、儲け手、勝ち鞭、待ち鞭、また三遅の
様子、競馬には様々あるといえども、癖の悪い馬の六種を良く乗り
平らかで速い馬に乗って走る様、遅い馬に乗って乗る
様を知っているほどの人でなければ秘事も甲斐なしということである。
一 御馬が何であれ代われば一番の右が勝負に乗る。一番左が勝
負に乗り代われば禰宜方の馬に乗る。祝方の馬には乗せないものである。また
馬を替えて乗り替り出仕し、馬場にて寄って替わって

乗る。知らない人が左より馬は寄る作法なりとて門より替えて
乗るなどと言うのは誤りである。
一 階下の使いに所司であっても目代であっても別当であっても乗り手へ行く
時、先ず浄衣着用を呼んで申すものである。その乗り手は床几より降りるのである。
下りなければ申さない。ある記録によれば競馬の時は所司・目代・別当が
使いするのを近衛使という。
