1. On the 5th day, after the rider's ceremonial dress is completed, before departing there is a ceremonial sake offering while seated on a wooden stool. Three ritual stands with three earthenware vessels, with a tai fish for ceremonial biting placed in the center (this is prepared for the shrine visit purification). Sake is poured over dried squid, but this is unnecessary.
After the three offerings, there is the ritual of taking the tai fish and biting it.
1. On the 5th day, before the rider departs, purify and cleanse using the rider purification ritual that came from the Onmyō official this morning.
The handlers are responsible for this.
1. On the 5th day, when bringing the two attendants in suō robes to the horse ground, they should wear short swords but not carry long swords.
According to the conference held in the second year of Kanpō, previously they came without swords but carrying long swords, the reason being that long swords are not part of the rider's duties, but were carried while prohibiting short swords to prevent fighting among the attendants, etc. If this matter is thoroughly explained, it is not a concern in current times, so it was unanimously decided that henceforth at the horse ground, long swords should be prohibited and short swords should be worn.

However, when shrine attendants are sent to raise horses, they should be sent without swords but carrying long swords.
On the morning of the 5th day, when sending for ceremonial items, the same applies - send them without swords but carrying long swords.
1. On the 5th day, when the rider departs, have the suō-robed attendant carry a fan-whip (tied together with clean hand towels) and scrolls, and have the hakuchō servant (unarmed) carry a red umbrella. Have him carry unlined thick cords in his breast.
1. On the 5th day, when the rider goes up to the government building, instruct the suō-robed attendant carrying scrolls not to scatter outside. At the government building, after receiving the scrolls, if he is not nearby when called, he will not be in time.
All scrolls are carried from the government building to before the shrine, and during the offering ceremony, instruct the suō-robed attendant to enter through the side door next to the Chinese-style gate within the middle gate, and place them on the shelf in the front garden of the western offering hall. They are not carried to the horse ground.
