[按]耕耘・肥料を四季に施すことを常とするとはいえ、多ければ多いほど良いとすべきである。
第五章
枝条を伐採した株根は、その周囲の土を掘ること深さ五、六寸にして、蚕の食べ残した桑葉に蚕糞の混じったもの《割書：土地の言葉でカイコウラという》を適宜に施す。
第六章
肥料は大豆《割書：煮爛し、或いは搗いて粉とし、灰に和して用いる》、酒醤の粕、魚腸、糖、米の類を随時の都合に任せて培養する。

第七章
桑苗には播種《振り仮名：トリネ》と圧条の別がある。圧条は三年にして養蚕に供すべきである。播種は五年でようやく用いることができる。なおそれのみならず、圧条は良種は必ず良種にして原質を失わない。播種は変化するものが多い。故に圧条を便利とする。
第八章
およそ圧条は三年にて蚕餌に供し、七年ないし十年に至れば老株を抜去して新たに圧条を植える。

Chapter Seven
For mulberry seedlings, there are differences between sowing 《Ruby text: torine》 and layering methods. Layering can be used for silkworm raising in three years. Sowing can finally be used after five years. Furthermore, with layering, good varieties will always remain good varieties without losing their original quality. With sowing, many undergo changes. Therefore, layering is considered more convenient.
Chapter Eight
Generally, layered plants can serve as silkworm feed after three years, and when seven to ten years have passed, old stocks should be removed and new layered plants planted.
Chapter Nine
When cultivating layered plants, one plant should be grown per tsubo 《Marginal note: six shaku square》 of land.
