卵顆が脱落する箇所が多く、かつ重なったものがあり、粗なものがあって色沢が不揃いで、紙表が曇ったようなものを下等とする。このようなものは経験を積んだ者でも自然に人の等級とする。
化生順序の諸説
第一章
まさに化生させようとする卵種紙を立春より六十日（すなわち清明の節）に箱中より出して、大気の通風が適宜な閑室に掛け置けば、約三十日前後には必ず発生する。その頃

早桑もやや発生するので、蚕子化生の期を促すことについて更に疑い恐れることはない。
[按] 時として蚕子化生の遅いことを欲するものは、箱のまま土蔵あるいは寒冷な所に置き、外気を通さないようにすれば差し支えない。またこの遅速について更に得失があることはないという。
第二章
蚕卵化生の期を立春より約九十日とするのは、上州佐位郡地方において自然の季候に任せて育てる所の定期である。

early mulberry leaves also begin to sprout somewhat, so there is no need to doubt or fear about hastening the period of silkworm metamorphosis.
[Note] When one wishes to delay silkworm metamorphosis, it is acceptable to leave them in boxes in earthen storehouses or cold places, preventing outside air from reaching them. It is said that there are no particular advantages or disadvantages regarding this timing adjustment.
Chapter Two
Setting the period of silkworm egg metamorphosis at approximately ninety days from Risshun is the standard timing for natural seasonal rearing in the Sai District area of Jōshū Province.
