倍に拡張する。すでに三眠に至れば一尺四方の中に八十匹、九十匹ないし百匹の割合で養うべきである。三眠より以降は特に拡張する際に厚薄なく、厳選した桑葉を与えることは言うまでもない。毎日五回の餌やりを欠かしてはならない。
第十二章
四眠（庭の休みという）も前三眠と同様に桑付けし、最も丁寧に養う。ただし網を被せることは用いず、手でこれを拾う。ただ籾殻を振りかけて桑を与え、一籠の内に眠蚕が一、二分見えるのを注意深く観察し、八百匹または九百匹を一籠とし、桑を薄く与え、努めて蚕の古い皮を取り除く。

Chapter 12
The fourth sleep (called "niwa no yasumi" - garden's rest) also involves mulberry attachment in the same manner as the previous three sleeps, raising them most carefully. However, covering with nets is not used; they are picked up by hand. Simply sprinkling rice hulls and feeding mulberry, carefully observing when one or two parts of sleeping silkworms appear in one basket, making eight hundred or nine hundred silkworms per basket, feeding mulberry thinly, and working to remove the silkworm litter.

Chapter 13
When all have entered sleep and after giving no mulberry for about a day and a half, when five or six parts have awakened, middle mulberry should be fed, and when eight or nine parts have awakened, mulberry attachment should be done immediately. If the weather is cold and the timing is delayed, even if eight or nine parts have not awakened, mulberry attachment may be done.

Thus on the third day the silkworm litter is removed, and from this time whole-leaf mulberry is fed, and removing silkworm litter daily must be most diligently practiced.
